Here's my problem. Big, elaborate, in-depth quotes because the guy walked out of a presser lol. It just seems like an over-the-top response to delve into "Cam as a man" because of the press conference.
Not to mention, in defeat, Cam was on the field, shaking hands, congratulating Denver players.
He seemed fine in defeat to me. Just not to the media. That's part of the job, and it wasn't a great look... but I saw someone use an MLK quote to decry Cam walking out of the presser. Seriously?
As a Colts fan, I was rooting for the Broncos because I wanted PM to get his second ring. I really don't care one way or another about Newton. I'm not happy nor sad that he was voted MVP or lost the SB. Really don't care. But here's the bottom line.
This guy has had questionable character for a lot of years. He then starts doing some commercials and smiles all the time. Does some charity work and people claim he's a changed man. I wouldn't be surprised if he was strongly encouraged to do those things in order to boost his image. I don't have a problem with end zone celebrations, but I do when he or anyone celebrates a first down like they are the first ever to get a first down. He's also constantly in opponents faces. I get guys say crap during games, but he's constantly doing it. Shaking hands with Manning? That was pretty much obligatory. It would have been worse than getting up from the interview if he hadn't done that. All Cam had to do, was go to the PC and simply say, "Guys I understand you have a job to do, but I'm upset and don't want to answer any questions right now". Then get up. He would have caught some flack, but not like he is did. As I stated before, he's great as long as things go his way. When they don't he shows his true character.
