I found this and I kept thinking about how many times I have read that sex is just for procreation... at the basement level it is for a small select few families of animals. Within that group some have highly evolved communal and societal bonds and therefore sex has developed other evolved uses. So I post this to all current and future Silverbacks for your use and perusal.

Well yes they do.... especially higher organisms that express an awareness of the environment and their place in it. Most definitely mammals. Dominant males in mammals will sometimes kill off another males cubs and then proceed to impregnate others in the troop with his seeds. They know wehre the cubs from and how they are made....We have that animal aspect to us as well though, which is apparent in the article and obv iously of evolutionary origin.
