Can we at least wait and see who he's replaced with before we annoint Weis for this move? I'm not too keen on some of the names that've been mentionned (although, some of them I do like too), and if its just another conservative, out-dated coordinator, what have they really gained?
I have a feeling Weis is gonna roll up big on this one. Tenuta comes to mind.

That would be nice. Tenuta did a very good job against ND this year with GT. They didnt have top talent on D but he knows how to coach. Minter could not of done that and never will. BYE BYE MINTER!!!

Zimmer left Dallas to be the D. Coordinator for Atlanta. I don't know what's become of his staff under him.
As for Tenuta, that'd be great, but I just can't imagine why he'd want the job. This goes for Pellini too. He's on the verge of getting head coaching offers, so why would he want to leave the defense he's built up to one of the better units in the nation to take over a defense that he'd have to rebuild from the ground up? Don't get me wrong, I would LOVE to see either of those guys take over for Minter. But as for either of them really wanting the job, I'll believe it when I see it I guess.
Of the names I've heard that I think they'd have a great chance of getting, Ken Norton would be a good fit. If they can't get a guy who's been a good coordinator already (like Tenuta or Pellini), then I'd rather Charlie hire a position coach from a good team than another retread guy who's schemes have been passed by by the game (like Minter).
And if they got rid of Minter, its a story regardless of who they replaced him with. How else are they gonna announce it other than a press conference? A press release isn't enough, the media's gonna have questions for Charlie about the move.

They would take the job to prove they can coach. If they change nd's defense into a national power it would give them great credentials to get a good job, rather than what chezick(spelling) got with Iowa St.

Mike Archer the DC from Kentucky has resigned at kentucky to take over as DC somewhere else. Read that on a rivals board this morning.

Apparently, a reliable source has it that Dan McCarney may be the new defensive coordinator, Ken Norton Jr. will be the new Assistant Head Coach and Linebackers Coach, and Rich Basaccia will be the new Special Teams Coordinator. Take it for what you will.

lol, relax man. I think that vein in your head is about to pop. I wasn't being a complete ass or anything. But how many times in the past year have you heard, "I have on good information that so-and-so is a lock to ND" or "Don't worry boys, I have a very reliable source that knows exactly what is going on.."?
I'm not pissed at the guy or anything, just stating that maybe 1/10 of those posts are actually correct. RELAX.
