You are forgetting guys like
John Beck - BYU
Kevin Colb - Houston
Tyler Palko - Pitt
Jared Zabransky - Boise State
Jeff Ballard - TCU

Not all QB's come from big schools or have big headlines.......all the above will be drafted and any one of them could step up and start in the next few years...among others...

Heck does anyone know where that Romo guy from Dallas went to College?????

(Eastern Illinios by the way)

Of that group, the only one I saw play extensively was Palko. My impresson of him is that he is a gritty competitor, but doesn't have NFL skills.

The others I really can't comment on, but you do make a good point. About one of every 3 NFL QB's starting right now went to a non BCS school (MCNair, Kitna, Pennington, DelHomme, Romo, Carr, Alex Smith, and a few others). So of th QB's you listed above, I bet maybe one will be an NFL starter just playing the odds.

But not having seen those guys play, I can't really make an assessment. To me, it looks like a weak draft based on the big names coming out and the guys I have seen.

Beck and maybe Kolb would probably be the two to do anything on that list.

The rest, highly dubious.

But there is a difference among the first tier QBs and the second tier. They have played much better competition than any of the other players and are more likely to adapt and succeed at the next level.

Yeah, saying that he is destined to fail probably isn't fair either. I just don't see him as special. When Dan Marino went pro, you knew he would be great. Same with John Elway. Same with Peyton Manning.

I feel like guys here are putting him up on that pedestal. I don't see it.

Peyton Manning never won a bowl game and always choked in the big games at UT. it seems to me like Quinn is very comparable to Peyton. Quinn surpassed Peyton's passing marks and has struggled in big games a bit. hindsight is 20/20, solo.

well lets be honest. a qb is as good as the playmakers around him are. he can put the ball where it needs to be but if noone can catch it or do anything with it then he looks bad and he also has to have a good run game in the pros.if a defence can focus on one thing then you aren't going to do anything.

I'm not talking about hindsight though. When Dan Marino graduated I fel that he would be an awesome pro and he was. Same with Manning. They just had a certain something about them that I don't see in BQ.

I certainly could be wrong. I didn't thjink that BQ was as good as Leinart and I honestly didn't get that special feeling with Leinart either. Time will tell.
