I've heard a rumor or two in the last couple weeks that the Poodle may be entertaining the idea of returning to failure in the NFL next year. Anybody have any details?

I've heard rumors about him leaving for Arizona, but nothing solid. I can't really see him leaving.

Yeah, that's what I heard as well. I just wasn't sure of the source or the probability of it actually coming to fruition. One thing is for sure though.....Denny Green is gone (unless they're just morons out there.)

It's reported that Arizona has made an offer. Pete has changed his tune a bit over the last few years and has not ruled a move back to the NFL out. He said he'll review everything at the end of the year.

Remember, USC is still under a NCAA investigation. If anything comes about, it may be a really good idea for Pete to move on.

Also, Pete loses the best OC in college. Things are not looking as sweet at USC for Pete that's for sure.

I don't want the Poodle to go anywhere until ND becomes the dominate team in the rivalry. I don't want there to be any excuses for USC on why ND is now beatin' their ass on yearly basis.

I'd like for him to stick around as long as he can keep USC near the top. I want to experience Ara v McKay in the form of Weis v Carroll.

If Poodle loses to Michigan, that'll be 3 for the year and 2 in a row. That may be enough for him to say, "screw it". If he is gonna have to work during the season and not just as a recruiter of talent, he may just quit. Poodle has an huge ego and losing 3 out of the last 6 games when he previously only lost 3 out of the last 57 may be too much for his ego.

The flip side is that he may want to go out on top. His team is still loaded, so he should have a decent shot next year.

The loss to UCLA killed his perfect exit plan. Maybe that is why it seemed so devastating to him..

Is USC really under investigation? It's just that nothing has been mentioned about this for so long. It almost seems as if though none of it ever happened.

he would have to be insane to leave USC. he can recruit just about anybody that can spell his name, have parents pay WR's rent, let agents buy houses for families. why leave all that good stuff, for the pressures of the NFL????? he won't leave until he gets caught doing something really bad.

He won't get caught doing something bad, but he will get caught when something bad is done on his watch.
