$100/week for gas in their car, a car payment, the ability to grab a burger once in awhile, some clothes, personal incidentals (toilet tissue, toothpaste, snack food, etc.), a cell phone, utilities, an occasional date, and the list goes on and on. A lot of these kids have almost nothing and families that can't help them financially. $100 per week doesn't seem unreasonable.

Wow, things have certainly changed since I went to college, half a million years ago... we never had to buy our own toilet paper, in the dorms!

Isn't 5 grand kind of chump change compared to what bag men are already offering the big time players?

When you and I went to college back in the 1920's, we used pages torn from the Sears catalog. :)

That assumes cost of tuition is a good reflection of degree value. But it's not; ND blows NW and SC out of the water.

Because the conversation is formed around the "total cost of a scholarship" I though it was pertinent to bring up how much it actually costs to attend each school. As always though you are correct, the value of a ND degree is much greater than Northwestern or SC. A benefit I hope both of my sons enjoy.

I don't really care if they pay the players but it should be the same amount for every team.

Neither did we so long as we embraced the sandpaper on our asses. Would always love it when mom sent a care pack back with me. One of my favorite items, Charmin!!
