Heard rumblings about Snead possible transferring. It would make since McCoy has 3 years left at UT. Anyone else hear anything like this?

Nothing is impossible. Now that Nichol is going to OU, he may change his mind again.

"Texas is a great place to be. I just think that for me to reach my goal of being a starting quarterback, I need to go somewhere else. I'm going to miss all of my teammates, coaches and the great fans, but I will always be proud of my time with the Longhorns."
I can't blame him. Colt McCoy started a game he shouldn't have played in. This also puts UT in a bad situation for the bowl game with McCoy being injured. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

ESPN is reporting that two others players (backups with little playing time) are transferring as well. My question is what does this do for them recruiting wise this year? Still just a max of 25 schollies, right?

I think that Sneads best choice would be Louisville, he would probably have to wait a year behind brohm but I think that they are the best team out of the three mentioned.

Just wanted to give you some insight into rumors Texas fans are hearing. Sources close to John Chiles (relatives that post on subscriber board) indicate the John Chiles may be close to looking at other schools and perhaps even decommitting from Texas. Texas recently approached about playing WR for 2007 and then going back to QB for 2008. This is to compensate for Limas Sweed's apparent intent to declare for the NFL draft.

John and his father apparently didn't take the requested position change well. John is 100% determined to play QB in college, and he will look at other schools if asked to change positions by Texas. The long and short is that CHiles and his father plan to discuss this with Mack this weekend on his official, and if they don't like the response, he will be gone as a Texas committ.

Also, Colt McCoy's health is pretty questionable for the bowl game. Texas may have to play a starting WR at QB, such as Billy Pittman or Quan Cosby.

Further, we are now hearing that Brantley's committment is very much up in the air. Brantley is seriously considering Florida and depending on how things go next weekend on his official, he may decommitt.

So Texas may have 1 returning scholarship QB with serious long term health concerns, and 1 other 3 star project scholarship QB.

Not sure I've ever seen anything like it in many years of following recruiting.

Just thought you guys might like to know considering it may or may not affect Florida recruiting.

Looks like the Longhorns are aching for some QB's.

No Snead, no McCoy, and no Chiles would be very bad for Texas. I've also heard that McCoy's injury could be career threatening.
