My thoughts exactly. Same with redfield and shummate. Piss poor coaching to not give Bryant a chance to finish the TD off after he sparked the crowd and put us in position to score. Players don't appreciate that. And instead we run a fucking bubble screen from the 3, lol.

He said in he on field pregame interview that this was a week where the players learned to shoulder responsibility for their in game actions. Yet when GB sets us up at the goal line, he gets yanked for Folston. He was responsible for getting us there, let him get at least the first shot to pound it in. Complete BS. We have a coach that preaches for the players to take responsibility for what they control yet refuses to do so himself. Reward the player that put you at the goal line.

If you want to be serious about all of the factors limiting his playing time look at Golson and his erratic play early on in the season when the d was healthy and playing great. That allowed teams like Syracuse and Stanford (who ND could have blown out) to hang around for way too long and did not allow for garbage time snaps for players like Bryant to work on things like pass protection that would have ultimately lead to more snaps later in the season.

How awesome was that punt return? The cocky bastard jumps right up and crosses his arms to the stands. I loved it. Can't wait to see him get carries next year.

Yeah. It was great seeing him get run down by a Tight End. I can't wait to see him NOT run away from Linebackers, next year.

Complaining about the speed of a guy who ran away from everyone on a punt return and got gassed at the end is ridiculous. Especially on this team which lacks athleticism.

I see you're still out smarting yourself with the use of commas, lol.

So who would you of rather seen tackle him? Doesn't matter it was a nice return, one of the best this season!

It was a huge play, but let's not get carried away by it. It's not like the guy was channeling Bo Jackson out there.

Damn man what kind of play would make you happy? Or are you one of those people who's never satisfied?

Great blocking, great cut and straight line speed. And my favorite part, emotion after the play. Stud:

That play made me happy. But what's wrong with trying not to let my emotions overrule reality? Before last night, Bryant had 6 punt returns for 34 yards. That one punt return was a great play, with a lot of influence on one game. But it doesn't mean that we somehow have found the answer for our punt return woes. And it sure as hell doesn't mean that Greg Bryant is going to make any more of a difference at tailback next year than he did this year.

No, he's one who defends Kelly against any criticism he gets on this board. Talking up Bryant is akin to criticizing Kelly hence the blasé attitude towards Bryant's great play.

Nice try there, Chief. But you are a no-go at this station!

Honestly I expected a little more top end speed from Bryant. Still good play by him.

I agree. Looked like he let off the gas just a bit. Maybe lookig to cut it back but realized that was a no go with the other defender that was closing.

I don't know why he doesn't get more carries. He must not hold onto the ball at all in practice. He is better than Cam especially since the latter cost us a game.

Bryant finished the season with 5.4 yards per carry to Cam's 3.6. Spin it however you want, but Bryant should have been getting carries over Cam this year. Both had over 50 carries and each with 1 fumble.

kinda surprise that Bryant had 50 carries this year. Didn't seem like it.

It's insane. Kelly's whole offensive philosophy can be summed up in the fact he's more concerned about his RBs in pass protection than actually carrying the ball (slight exaggeration).

Of the many mistakes BK made this season wasting carries on Cam instead of further developing Folston and especially Bryant is probably the most inexcusable imo.

IDK. The two young backs couldn't pass protect. If you want to see the field in college and especially the NFL you need to pass protect. Also, factor in that Cam was a captain.

Saying that I was really pleased with Folston's pass protection the past few games. he is becoming a complete back.

Maybe they would not have been all world pass blockers but shouldn't the coaching staff be able to get two very talented backs to be capable pass blockers by year two? Not to mention Cam's pass blocking was only average most of the season. I think the dropoff in pass protection from Cam to Folston was much smaller than the dropoff in running ability from Folston to Cam. I did not see enough of Bryant to form an opinion on how his blocking really measured up.

If you watched the Syracuse, Arizona State, and Northwestern games, Cam wasn't a very good in pass protection either.

Both of them, along with Folston, should have gotten carries over Golson throwing it.

The need to be great at pass protection would've been less important in their were less passes thrown.

Cam wasn't that great at pass pro either. Got Gilson killed plenty imo.
