I don't know, that's not my job. I'm like Shay, I don't have all of the answers. All I know is that we are regressing in front of our very eyes. We went from 12-0 to losing to a crappy Northwestern team and an average Louisville team. Is there any reason to think 2015 will be better? None of these coaches or players have shown anything to be optimistic about.

I don't think ND will ever win another national championship.

Maybe, maybe not. I'm typically a negative person, but some of you on here need to take a break. Spend some time with your kids or family.

First off, I created my username at the beginning of the year when Everett was playing lights out.... That being said, I don't have enough vBucks to change this shitty name....

I'm not gonna say that BK needs to be fired, cause it might be a little premature given the vast amount things that have happened with players, recruiting, injuries, etc... But.....

BK has NOT been a "great" coach. His so-called offensive genius is seriously flawed. I am no defensive coordinator but I could virtually guarantee that if given a week of time to prep my defense, I would be able to tell my players what play they were going to run, strictly based on formation, at least 75-85% of the time. I have obviously watched every single snap for the past 10 years, and every single snap of BK's career, but if I can do it, then I know for certain experienced DC's can sniff it out much faster.

BK's inexperience with the clock has been putrid at best. Not even mentioning last week, wtf was he thinking calling the TO on 3rd and goal today with 61 seconds on the clock! If they score on third down, they leave at least 50 secs left to louisville with 2 TO's left.... Why not let the clock run to 20 secs or so and then call the TO. Some might say, well what if u get the first down due to PI of holding or some penalty and get 3 additional plays... Who cares, you still have 3 TO's in your pocket!! Obviously it didn't matter cuz they missed the kick, but either way, I would have bet money that Louisville would have driven the ball to at least get a FG attempt with that amount of time left, cause ND's prevent defense is beyond suceptable to 10 yd outs all the way down the field... It's laughable how easy it would be to run a two min offense against this team, no matter who the DC has been....

The bottom line IMO is that it doesn't matter because I think BK is the best we can get/keep anyhow, but he hasnt EVER been an "elite" coach during while at ND and he seriously needs to take a look at his own EGO if he wants to right the ship. He needs to get better, but most of all, "HE" needs to beleive that he needs to be better!

Please, Junkhead, NOT with their kids or family!

No child or spouse should be subjected to the trash these people throw at a school and athletes they claim to love and support.

Their child who missed say 30 days of school due to illness and only got B's will be chided as the most stupid kid in the history of schooldom. Then they'd heap on the NO heart, lacking all fundamentals, and nary a scintilla of leadership.

They'd blame the school teachers for crippling their children's development through poor planning and time management.

They'd blame their spouse for not checking the homework as they themselves had little time as they had an obligation to trash 18-21 year olds from work and from home.

And when it comes to sports their kids obviously inherited their abilities from their mother's side of the family.

Junkhead, many of these guys haven't a clue how to critique, they can only complain. Better to let them act like asses here.

I didn't watch the game this weekend, but spent time with the family instead. Sometimes you gotta take a break and come back the next week with a positive attitude. Plus can't ever say no to spending time with my kids.

Man, if defensive coordinators know exactly what we are running at a rate of 75 to 85% of the time like you claim to be able to do, and we are still averaging almost 35 points a game, we must be really good!

Literally closer than any team not named Alabama.

You'd be that OSU fan who shouts "Yeah but the 2006 team sucked!" since they got demolished by Florida.

Actually Georgia played them in the SEC CG much better than we did in the NC. If I remember, UG had them beat and blew it more than Bama winning that game.

BTW....Knute and Frank are rolling over in their graves. Ara and Lou are despondent.

I don't know if this has been discussed yet, but teams are scoring way more points in every game than previously. OSU's true frosh QB just broke records on this very thing. Our super shity D isn't helping matters, but I'm not too worried about this stat.

I'm curious how many other schools have had this record broken in the past 5 years? I've seen a lot of 40ish to 50ish type socores across the board.

Do you think that is due to the wider adoption of pass-first offenses? Perhaps our view on what is a successful defense needs to change.

5th year head coach. If the team is too young he should have recruited better. The good thing about the fifth year is there are no excuses.

Do you realize how many injuries we have on the DL? DL recruiting was a nightmare before Kelly, he hasn't done a great job but definitely better than his predecessors. Here are the injuries on the DL: Day, Jones, Cage, lost Ishaq to suspension, Tuitt left early for NFL, and Nix left with a year of eligibility left. The best and/or most experienced are not playing right now. Lost Russell before the season and now Riggs is injured. Let's not forget we have also had some career ending injuries at linebacker and DL. Kelly has recruited well but coaches can never predict injuries or suspensions. We should have Springman, Baratti, Grace, and Schmidt too. This year has been historically bad on the defensive side with injuries. And before anyone points to other teams having injuries and still playing well remember ND does not accept JUCOS and doesn't gray shirt either. The team hasn't played well this year but I think it's a little unfair to put all the blame on the coaches. Suspensions and injuries have played a huge role.

Notre Dame will never return to the Knute/Frank/Ara/Lou years. The landscape of college football has changed; hell, it was changing on Lou when he left.
