When all is said and done, this is going to be the best rivalry/series of college football in my lifetime, and I want to be a part of it. I'm going to cringe when I pay for the trip, but a friend and I are going to make the long trip to Louisianna for the LSU/Bama game in 2016. Going to be an expensive trip considering we don't want either team to win, lol.

I can't remember who posted it, but someone on here said they had been to that game 9 times and wasn't sure they wanted to go this year. What would it take to get 2 or more tickets from you for that game in 2016? And/or advice on buying LSU tickets to save the most money.

Why would you want to travel 600 miles to watch a crappy 14-10 game?

Pass. I'd rather watch paint dry than see another horrible LSU/Bama game.

Lol wrong. That was a good game. DB's actually playing the ball, fast D-lineman, great crowd. I loved it.

That was me...it really is a great rivalry to take part in. Football games at LSU, especially night games, are a completely different beast. The tailgating is phenomenal. Lets be in touch...we can make something work.

I disagree, LSU's inability to throw a forward pass this year vs a semi decent team is mind-blowing. That isn't a good game that is fucking painful. As proof here is their starting QB's game by game stats. The best is the New Mexico State Game, 2-5, 11 yards, 0 tds and 2 ints. FML.

8/30 Wisconsin W 28-24 9 21 239 42.9 80 2 0

Tailgating vs. the actual game is a completely different discussion. I went to the PSU/OSU game this year. The tailgating was amazing, and made the 3 hour trip worth it even though the first 3 quarters of the game were truly awful. Would I drive 12 hours though? Probably not.

No, that was more atrocious offense than good defense. The game itself was no different than a PSU B1G game.

Words of caution, Buy a LSU hat and wear it.

I've been to games around the country with business travel and have not come across a cruder or drunker group of fans. Probably 2/3 to 3/4 of the crowd would fail a breathalyzer test. I like to tailgate this crowd loses to harass opposing team's fans. Not good natured ribbing but down right nasty trash talk.

I'd heard this from numerous SEC fans but experienced it first hand in '97 when ND beat LSU in Death Valley. I was wearing an ND jacket with a leprechaun on the back. When I left the hotel the desk clerk advised me to be cautious. She warned about excessive drinking and abusive behavior. We had our first encounter when we parked the car. There were several more in your face encounters on the walk to the stadium. An elderly LSU couple sitting behind us during the game congratulated us for the win then advised us to leave the stadium in groups going back to our cars and to stay out of the bars that night for our safety. When we got back to the hotel the night manager also congratulated us on the win and advised we change out of ND gear if we were going out. He explained that too many of the fans that have been drinking all day take a loss personally and that nasty words can quickly escalate to violence. He also suggested we not leave any ND gear visible in the car as it may result in a broken window.

Enjoy the game!

The game was downright painful to watch only in the sense that I had no idea what Alabama was doing on offense. Everyone knows that LSU would be strained to put up more than 17....and they didn't. I just have no idea what Bama was doing on their end, it seemed like a hodgepodge of plays with a lack of cohesion. Baffling. It really seemed like it was a strange tug of war between Saban wanting to be more conservative and Kiffen wanting to air it out. LSU really had no business making that a game.

I actually enjoy these games because they're memorable. When you have 'great' games that are 46-41 all of the time, there's too many to make a lasting impression.

Line up, we're running right into you, and may the baddest man win. Those two teams are the last of a dieing breed, IMO. I appreciate the way they play.

But that isn't what happened.

Bama threw the ball 46 times versus 29 rushes. The routes were safe and vanilla and the running game surprisingly didn't involve Henry in any major way until Yeldon was hurt.

LSU-Bama is awesome. Not for the faint of heart. They play a brand of physical football that I wish we could obtain.

And if you point to the passing attempts, that is clearly a product of Kiffin's presence and cannot generalize the series.

True, although that's uncommon for Bama, but might not be moving forward with Kiffen/Sims.

But LSU did run 56 times. Either way, offensively it might not be the most exciting football, but I still appreciate it.

Praying you simply forgot italics.

No. Don't want to travel 600+ miles to watch an LSU/Bama football game. Those are painful games to watch IMO.

Memorable games are ones like FSU/ND. Yesterday's game was only memorable because LSU and Bama both played terribly on offense (not unlike the last 15 times they played). A game that consists of 50+ HB dives and 50+ HB off-tackles is not worth a 12 hour drive or a $500 flight.

LSU ran the ball 56 times because they are a flawed team offensively and they know it. It isn't some throwback playing style that Les Miles believes in. If they had Marcus Mariota at QB they would slinging the rock all over the field. There's no reason to appreciate a team's deficiencies.

Some of what you're saying is true, but you're neglecting the defenses. LSU/Bama's defense is a different animal, and it's awesome IMO to watch them smash each other.

I'm not rich, but I'm still making this trip, burning vaca time, to watch two teams I don't even like. So to tell me its painful to watch would be impossible for me to agree with.

This I can agree with here. The pass happy offense of Bama on Saturday was understandable, tho the routes and strategy behind it wasn't.

What is perplexing to me is the lack of QB recruiting/development under Les Miles.

So, his first year was 2005 and was handed Russell, ditto for 2006. 2007 was Matt Flynn (Saban recruit) and 2008 was the first sign that something wasn't right. It was the Jefferson/Lee/Hatch debacle and that continued thru 2011. 2012 was the first year post Jefferson drama and you had Mettenberger, who never really produced given his talent and those around him.

So basically, you have Saban's gifts then a whole bunch of drama/underachievement. Not exactly a ringing endorsement.
