Is it possible Austin Collinsworth comes back this week & calls the defense

I see that Austin was in full uniform for Navy, but didnt play. Any chance Austin comes back this week and is able to call the defense from safety now that Joe is hurt?

I have a hard time believing Austin can play at a high level with his weak shoulder. One hit and he'll be toast again.

He, his parents, and the coaching staff have discussed playing with a special brace for the rest of the year that would allow him to come back sooner rather than later. Kelly ruled him out for sure the week leading up to Navy but from the sounds of it, they may give him a shot this week given Schmidt's injury.

That special brace didnt work for Baratti.

Also, its not practical for a safety to call the defense. When they talk about communicating from that spot, its more of the secondary vs the entire defense. Jaylon will need to take a step forward in this department this week and Morgan will need to start living up the hype.

It was only one play, but I still have terrible flashbacks of Collinsworth getting burnt for ASU's only big play last year.

Shumate and Redfield need to be out there simply to run with ASU's athletes.

Seems most of our games against quality teams come down to getting pressure. If we give really good QB's time to throw then they are going to make big plays against our young defense. VanGorder is going to have be as aggressive as he ever has been for us to win this weekend.

Put a red penny (I think that's what they call them) on him like the QB's wear in practice. Tell the other team he can't be hit, he's just in to direct traffic.
