According to Pete Carroll, they have been growing the Coliseum grass very long for ND's practice Friday afternoon, then plan to cut it short for Saturday. Additionally, he indicated that Desdmond Reed would be captain for the game given his injury on the long grass at ND last year. Lastly, when asked if he had anything special planned for the Irish, he said "no, nothing unusual."

yesterday, I was walking on north quad, and the grass jumped up and tripped me and injured me. it seems to be a strange thing that happens here at ND. but I hear it's smart. see, the problem was, I was wearing a red coat, so the grass thought I was from USC. It's smart, so it knows not to attack people in green or blue.

seriously, what an idiot. I can't wait to beat them and wipe the smirk off that arrogant idiot's face.

We all saw what happened when John L. made fun of CW...how did their season end?? ND must beat USC. I can't help but think Charlie has been planning this rematch for an entire year...he won't be screwed again.

The Irish are seriously in their heads. I smell fear. For a few years, only Cal could step up and challenge them. Now they are finding challenges all over. A strong ND program is a very real threat to the Trojan "dynasty."

Amazing how Reid was the only player hurt on the "long grass". He must have been the only one playing on the field that day. If others were playing on it, I'm positive they would have surely gotten hurt too.

what i wouldn't do for an Irish victory this saturday night. I would crawl on 50 miles of broken glass, slide down a 50 foot long razorblade into a pool of alcohol and then swin through shark infested whale piss for an irish victory.

what a jack ass! that guy is such a dick. my dog ripped his acl when i forgot to mow the lawn once.
i totally feel for the poor schlep that got hurt last year. i'm sure the injury had nothing to do with playing FOOTBALL, it was a direct result of the grass being long. the injury happened during warm-ups i am sure.
i hope that we get up by 24 on those jerks and run a fake punt. we owe them some crap like that. i know it won't happen because our coach has class. something pete can learn about.
we better win this game on saturday. i don't care about the NC now. i just want to shove it in ESPN's and the national media's face. they have been crowning SC for the last two days.

So every injury that has occured this year for his team is because of the field and not the players? I suggest that for each game next year, he makes the captains the ones that got hurt. After all, it would only be fair.
