Mark May offered 2 tickets to Reese and Lou to jump on his USC bandwagon. Lou ripped his up and Reese asked if it was refundable. I wish i could just go to sleep and wake up next saturday god dammit.

Cal showed some weakness in SC. Gable is the only back i think that can hurt the IRISH, i dont' see washington doing a whole hell of a lot. ND is pretty good at shutting down the inside but gables speed to the outside can cause some problems. Booty didnt' have a great game, when he is pressured he is an average qb. also, almost everytime CAL was in a 3 and 5+ SC sent 2 blitzers up the gut. I see CW spreading it out, running a lot of draws, flanker screens, and slant routes. Make SC's linebackers cover the IRISH receivers one on one, opening the door for Rhema and Shark to do moster damage. If it comes down to special teams, the place kicking game, the IRISH are screwed. If the Irish can get up early and put up a lot of first half points and make sc play from behind, they have a good chance of blowing them out of the statdium.

I was at the Army game and hearing those chants of "Beat SC" gave me chills.

I think it was on everyone's minds there Saturday.

Weis ran out of the same formation for most of the Army game...Walker as a single back, three wide with a tight end. I think they attempted one pass to Freeman the whole game. Everything was run and intermediate pass routes. He didn't give SC much on tape from the Army game, that's for sure. Then he admits they were practicing for SC the week of the Army game?

Get ready for the kitchen sink.

I want ND to win this game so bad. Not just for the all the fans who have believed in them, but for all the haters and even ND fans who have called them over-rated, slow, etc. I even questioned them after the 1st half of MSU, but since then they have done nothing but earn our respect and belief that this team can accomplish great (some said impossible) things. A team that was 6-5 just 2 years ago has since given ND a 19-4 record. There are only 2 games to go and I for one will do nothing but support them and believe in them til the end.

Anyone who wants to wax poetic on how great Michigan, OSU, or the SEC teams are, there are other sites that would love to have you. I'd rather see IrishEnvy filled with support for ND and the belief that these kids can pull off something monumental and special.

Go IRISH! BEAT SC!

If we beat USC, in my opinion, that could be a huge turning point for this program. It would be a huge statement game to the entire country that we're back. No one would be able to say any longer that we can't beat the good teams.

You just summarized the most important aspect of this football game. The BCS and Heisman aren't even close in significance to the big picture.

Charlie Weis put it best: no one will care that they beat Army. They'll remember beating SC and winning a BCS bowl game.

No doubt. Man, that really gives the game a whole new meaning for me.

Having been at the Army game, the chants of "Beat SC" and "Go Irish, Beat Trojans" were far more significant than just encouraging the team for their last game of the season on Senior Day at the final home game.

Everyone in that stadium Saturday knows what this SC game means. Notre Dame wins, they take some of the sting out of the scUM loss and open some eyes all over America....media and recruiting.

NO WAY, DON'T STOP KEEP THAT FEELING OF JUST KICKING ASS AND DON'T LET IT GO!!
BEATING SC WILL BE MY CHRISTMAS PRESENT. I HATE THOSE FREAKING SC FANS, IN THE PAST FEW YEARS SC FANBASE HAS BEEN TAKING OVER BY A BUNCH OF RAIDER FANS. BUNCH OF FREAKING A-HOLES WITH A GANG MENTALITY. I HOPE THE IRISH COME INTO THE GAME NASTY AND HITTING HARD.

Please God.

Please God.

God I don't ask for much , maybe a couple 5 star recuirts a national title every 4 or 5 years. A coach who doesn't care what others think of him. This time I mean it though please help us beat USC and I promise to drink my milk and say my prayers. Plus I won't ask for another thing until signing day.

Weis said after the Army game that he's watched every SC play this year! I'm sure he's seen the Cal game as well.

This game means as much to him as it does to us.

Special teams had better wake up. I like how ND is blocking kicks lately, but there have been some extra point mishaps just as much. UNC, Air Force and Army have all seen the Irish block kicks. Mainly Landri.

But if they keep botching extra ponts, they all even out.

I'd like to see a nice punt return and perfect kicking. Can't give away points against SC. And enough holding penalties already. The first quarter saw two on Santucci alone.

I took a quick look at a USC board to gauge their activity. I learned 3 things...

1. They HATE Charlie Weis for some reason. They wouldn't say why, but they hate the guy. I think it is because he's fat. Anywhere else that doesn't really matter, but in LA they hate fat people.
2. They had nothing to say but great things about ND fans when they visited South Bend. Seriously, not one bad word. Even said that ND fans in general are very classy. Kinda surprised by that.
3. They are not taking this Irish team seriously AT ALL. You would think they were playing Stanford again.

HAHAHA. Are you kidding me, if SC goes into the game with that attitude they will lose the game. (Even though they already going to lose.)

On a side note, I like to see Brady take advantage of Freshman Saftey Taylor Mayes, mainly becuase he was an ND recruit, who stupidly went to SC

I really hope all of the USC players are under-estimating us. The ones who have been there a while certainly won't be. But there are some younger guys that get a lot fo playing time. And if they see this game as similar to them against Oregon, or Stanford, then we will teach them a lesson. Damnit!!!!!! Saturday! Get here already!

And Jigga, I was at the game to, and to see Rhema get all pumped up was awesome. You could tell he was enjoying the moment. But Brady.... he was on a mission. He is going to be the most focused you have ever seen him against USC. You can count on that.

I think this week will be one of the most focused weeks in Brady's career at Notre Dame, Weis will pull out some plays that have not even been seen all year. I am so ready for this game it is unreal.

GO IRISH !!!!!!

Ryan Harris should maul Brian Cushing, but Lawrence Jackson lining up across from Sam Young could be a tough matchup. Freeman might have to help Young with blocking Jackson.

I like ND's front four against the SC O line.

Lawrence Jackson has been the biggest disappointment on the USC team IMO. I have no doubt that Young will handle him.

Carl Goia and Ryan Burkhardt had better bring their 'A' games to Los Angeles Saturday.

Goia's head had better be right. The snaps, holds and blocking are not the reason why he's missing extra points.

I'd like to see some touchbacks from the young frosh Burkhardt.

Special teams is going to make a big play to decide this game.
