A good defense's job is to get off the field on 3-and-outs and to get the ball back to the offense. They failed to do that in the second quarter. Obviously not giving up any points is excellent but that shouldn't be the only goal. Letting a team go down the field and eat up that much clock is NOT a good thing. I'm struggling to understand why you would say so.

You guys will complain about anything. By the way, Air Force has the 3rd ranked rushing offense in the entire country averaging 270 yards per game rushing, only behind Navy and West Virginia.

In the first half, our defense only allowed 102 rushing yards. They average 334 yards per game in total offense and after one half, they have 160. They average 25ppg on the year, and they have THREE.

I mean, seriously... do you guys even research the opponents?

Of course it is... but to complain about something like this when it's netting the #3 rushing attack in the nation only THREE points after one half of football is like asking for a lobster tail in addition to the filet mignon you already have on your plate.

Man. you've got to be kidding me. I missed the first half. I come back and it's 27-3. and people on here are whining about the defense? Look. Teams are going to gain yards. It's going to happen. Teams are going to convert third downs. The defense's responsibility is not to get three-and-outs, although that'd be nice. The defense's job on this team is to put the offense in a position to win the game, and they've done that very, very well.

Wouldn't arguing about the defense not giving up any points be a good thing? The world doesn't end when someone disagrees with another poster. My point was lost when nobody actually read what I wrote and made thier own assumptions.

Let's hope for similar results in the second half.
