I wonder if he'll slap himself at the press conference.

Big shock here.

A total embarrassment. He left Louisville and never skipped a beat. He did nothing in East Lansing.

Total idiot.

God, I'll miss him. No one could make you feel better about your own team's situation than Johnelle.

Question: If Johnelle slaps himself in his own house with no cameras there to catch it, is he still crazier than a sh*thouse rat?

I look at Petrino's success at Louisville and wonder about some of these coaching hires.

I think Dan Hawkins and Juan El are two completely different breeds of person, but with the X and O factor you just never know. Boise State isn't hurting much right now, are they?

I'm guessing the hot candidate is The Mooch Steve Mariucci.

Maybe Tyrone leaves U Drub and coaches his alma mater?

beat me to it.... Mooch is the obvious answer... MSU /ND could get REAL interesting each year real fast.... (not to say it hasn't been the last few years to begin with..)

What are Spartans gonna do now that they don't have John L to slap himself around?

Can't see Ty leaving Washington that quickly. Besides, I know he's a Spartan alum, but I think he's more of a west coast guy, I think he likes coaching in the Pac-10.

Mariucci is the likely candidate. I think he'd do a pretty good job, and at least get the program back to the upper-middle of the Big Ten.

yeah, but the difference is w/ Mooch as the head coach, no one can say the Irish coming back to win on a last second TD drive doesn't mean anything anymore against that team.

Poor, poor Johnelle. I wonder if he'll get another coaching job in Div 1-A? It'll be pretty hard for any AD to forget "the slap".

Send him down to North Carolina. Would Little then verbal to ND?

Johnelle should go to DUH U. They need someone with proper slapping experience and experience defending the home field from "disrespect".

Mariucci is probably the guy but I think Michigan State should take a long hard look at BYU's head coach, Bronco Mendenhall.

I could see Johnelle winding up at Iowa State, if they ever get the stones to buy out Dan McCarney's contract.

Mariucci is not coming here. If anyone is wondering, here are some of the names Ive heard thrown out there:

- Steve Marriucci
- Ron English
- Norm Chow
- Butch Davis
- Brian Kelly

That about it right now...

Maybe Nicky Saban bails on the Dolphin disaster and comes back for round two, LOL.

Just in case it's not obvious, that was a joke.

MSU is a tough job and I'm not sure anyone can win it all there. For starters it will always be viewed as the second best football school in the state. I hate Michigan but they're Michigan and they are the big dog in that state.

It sucks that Johnelle is being shown to the door! Now MSU might hire someone (Mariucci?) that can actually coach without CHOKING at mid-season. He should have a lifetime contract with a no buy-out clause at MSU .... they need him!

Why would Mariucci not be interested?

Who is Brian Kelly?

Brian Kelly is Central Michigan's coach.

Wouldn't they want someone a bit more high profile than that?

BTW, Everything I'm reading lately indicates that Coker is gone from Miami at the end of the year and Schiano at Rutgers is as good as in.

You're probably right about Miami. They are not done losing this season.

Mariucci has said that he dosent feel safe going out in public in Michigan because "everyone hates him". He is supposed to be moving back to California.

Izzo isnt gonna push him to take the job, if anything he would tell him to back away. He has seen a few coaches go through rough times at MSU.
