I posted the same thing over on the recruiting board.... My heart says it was this year but I head says it was last year.

I would assume it was last years because one of the calls he said something like we're really happy your joining us Robby. So I figured he was talking to Robby Parris.

How does this affect recruiting though? What do you think a parent of a recruit is thinking when they're watching this with their son? Just wondering if it could have a negative affect.

If the kid is that much of a pussy that getting sworn at by the coach is what is going to determine whether or not the are going to commit, we really don't want them on the team anyway. Bobby Knight has been like that for years and he still got good recruits, it is winning that gets the players to come.

Kids, they probably hear the same language (if not worse) from their high school coaches.

If Weis was Parcells' whipping boy, it sure looks like Brian Polian is Weis'. Twice Polian felt the wrath and they showed Latina getting chewed out too.

I'd like to shadow Weis for just one day, this being my first year of coaching and all, just to see how he operates.

Just when the HATER NATION was enjoying seeing the Irish get jumped again by an idle team despite winning, CBS spotlights ND and Weis. DAMN!!!!!!!HAHAHAHAHAHAH!

And the best part is, they all watched it and cried about the media bias with ND. They never quite understand that their hate is the reason why ND gets so much coverage. It's an evil cycle for the HATER NATION.

What would be negative about it? Elaborate what you saw?

Weis doesn't exactly come across as being "nice" to his players. Just not sure if people can interpret his brutal honesty in a different manner.

You're right.

There are plenty of granola munching tree huggers out there with personalities of wet rags that are mouth breathing bed wetters that just can't take a little sarcasm. I like those people. You work in sales long enough, you weed them out of your business life because they're too uptight and zero fun.

Hopefully THOSE kind of recruits saw it and said, "Man, I don't want to go there. I wanna go to USC because Pete Carroll is my buddy and Ken Norton will bark like a dog at me. And that just fires me up."

Again, high school coaches are probably the same way, if not worse than what we saw on that 60 Minutes segment. And I can assure you, in the NFL no one stands around to wipe your butt and kiss it when they're done. This might shock some of you, but NFL coaches use foul language and talk tough.

GASP.

I think the Super Bowl Rings would get me over the cussing. But WTF do I care, I'm a Marine and I can make CW cussing look pretty mild when I get fired up.

Weis doesn't exactly come across as being "nice" to his players. Just not sure if people can interpret his brutal honesty in a different manner.

Right or wrong people will interpert what they want. Opposing recruiters will point out he's not a "player's" coach. Tom Brady will point out, he's a player's coach. He coached me into the player I am today.

Opposing recruiters will neglect to point out Weis stressing academic performance (as they gloss over their less than stellar academic graduation rate for football players). Gary Gray's mother probably would prefer Charlie had a less colorful vocabulary but she knows her son will attend class, will turn in his assignments, will perform on this tests, and will EARN a degree from one of the best university's in the nation.

About 20 years ago Auburn Head Coach Pat Dye was asked why he was playing his SEC leading rusher when the kid hadn't attended any classes all season. Dye replied, "How am I suppose to know about his academics, he has professors for that. I'm the football coach." Charlie Weis knows if one of his players misses a single class. And it's promptley dealt with. I'm sure a lot of 18 year old will interpert that in a different manner than their parent's would.

he is more to these kids then a coach. "nice" im sure he is not on the field. like wise off the field im sure he can joke around with the kids some and be friendly . im sure not one of these kids is afraid to come to weis on or off the field there is a time for nice and a time to be serious .
