I dislike Saban less than I dislike Scurban Meyer. Saban does not pretend to be something he is not. Saban makes it clear. Saban only cares about football - not whether you as a player get a good education or a meaningful degree from the University of Alabama. Roster management. Make it as a football player or you are off the team.

Scurban is a slimeball, a phony, a fake, a VERY SMOOTH con man. Scurban looks so sincere and Scurban holds Bible study classes which Aaron Hernandez was compelled to and did "religiously" attend.

I have met both men. Meyers once briefly, (when he was BGSU head coach) and instantly did not like him. I knew Saban for a brief while when he was head coach at the University of Toledo. Saban is not a bad guy. But you are right he is all business. He follows the letter of the law. You would be surprised. But he does not mess around. UT lost him when they did because they couldn't react quickly enough to grow the program the way he wanted. It was a mutual parting because he had a way of being blunt and ruffling feathers when he didn't get what he was promised or needed. He is totally driven to be the best.

In both cases these men can be condemned for their flaws, if you would like. I have no use for Meyer; he is as little as he is regularly reported. Saban is different. He does not have the lying and cheating flaws of the other. He is just a bit to ruthless in my opinion.

That is why I like Kelly and the staff he has built. I think they miss the Meyer b.s.; have the desire for excellence of Saban; but add a humanity, compassion, interest for the young men they coach almost not seen today. Hopefully, this is one of the things recruits see and are responding.

I was recruited by Meyer when he was at BGSU. He sucked me right in, hook line and sinker, funny thing is he pitched a lot things Notre Dame. Notre Dame does this, Notre Dame does that, thats how we will do things.. blah blah blah. I was Sold from the first "Hi" but! my Dad was totally skeptical and referred to him as a used car salesman. Guess what? Dads a psychotic OSU fan and Urban walks on water. We argue every football season. I Hate to admit that my Father is a full fledged member of the OSU cult.

If there was a (nonrival/nonconference) fan base that hated Urban Meyer the most while he was a Florida, it was Ohio State. Now he's the best coach since Paul Brown.

He's known as Urban Liar around here.

Neat! Did you end up playing for Urban, or in the MAC?

I have family just like your dad (also referencing Buster). I don't feel bad because I cannot help to whom I am related.

I had some trouble getting my ACT and GPA to jive so Urban had to make a move and they passed on me. Ended up at Ohio, played special teams for 2 years got hurt, Shoulder issues, just couldn't recover from it, had to hang it up.

I have seen a couple pictures of him lately, and I agree. His legs are beginning to look massive. That definitely was not the case for him in high school.

I saw him play his senior year at the state championship. He was a rail compared to now.

That is what I am talking about! And it doesn't look like he lost an ounce of speed or explosiveness! That is what I am saying about some of the three stars, or underappreciated recruits ND has pulled in, especially guys like Adams, and Saunders. Boykin, too! Can you imagine him at a sub-4.5 forty, and 6'4", 240-250 lbs.?

This is so nice to see! Golson has a lot to make up for, but if anybody can do it, he is the one who can. I also expect to see tons of big plays and turnovers this year from our defense with Russell and Smith leading the way. Getting pretty pumped for the season lol... Sorry for my incoherent giddy ramblings.
