Season 8 is on Netflix. Season 9 is the newest and began this spring IIRC. They're scheduled to make multiple more seasons

What's great about Always Sunny is that it isn't slowing down or getting worse, at all. You could argue the opposite.

They're locked in through season 12. Assuming it's 10 episodes a season, that'll get them to 134. Seinfeld did 180 and 30 Rock did 138, to compare to other great shows and the amount of material generated.

And the shorelines and stuff are so random that you feel like they could go on indefinitely. Shows like Modern Family where the characters grow over the course of the show eventually run out of life lessons to work from. When you are able to build an entire episodes around a reimagined history of the liberty bell, the possibilities are infinite.

"Sweet Dee is Dating a Retard" also has to be up there.

"We are Electric Dream Machine. Prepare to experience.......sexual magic...." Fucking hilarious.

Definitely. It's like Seinfeld in that regard, hence "Seinfeld on crack."

Seinfeld is a show about decent people having something going for them, and then getting screwed over. Always Sunny is a show about awful people doing awful things and somehow breaking even. Both are amazing.

Wut? The friends in Seinfeld are terrible people. Like... just the worst sort of people. They're all shallow, self-absorbed assholes. Now, Louie on the other hand, IS about a decent person getting screwed over.

Can I amend decent to mediocre? I don't think they're terrible people. Maybe George. Kramer, Elaine, and Jerry aren't going to do the shit the Always Sunny gang does. They'll discuss personal feelings on social norms and how the fit into their selfish ways, which I think it rather normal actually.

Well yeah compared to its Always Sunny they're saints. But one reason why I have a hard time fully giving Sunny its credit is because it's basically just Seinfeld that has been "ELECTRIFIED!".

They're both shows about people having good things and messing them up because they can't get past the small stuff. But Sunny just has everything cranked to 11.

For example: if Seinfeld wanted to show a guy who was fat, they'd have him be portly, a little unshaven, and be wearing lose flannel shirts. If Sunny wanted to show a guy that was fat, they'd have him not wearing a shirt, with sweat pants and a neckbeard, and probably have him wearing a can of chili on a string around his neck.

This is not to say I dislike Sunny, or even like it less than Seinfeld.
