I got Dale DeBone.

Here is further evidence to back up ACamp and why I too don't care about "awards" shows. Ridiculous.

... two Oscar voters privately admitted that they didn't see '12 Years a Slave,' thinking it would be upsetting. But they said they voted for it anyway because, given the film's social relevance, they felt obligated to do so.

Oscars: '12 Years a Slave' puts spotlight on Hollywood's approach to race - latimes.com

Full disclosure-- this is not to say that 12 YEARS isn't a good film (I haven't seen it), just that whether a film is nominated for or wins an Oscar tells me nothing.

Did Lego Movie come out too late to be nominated for best motion picture?

Just for reference, I have seen all of these movies except for "Her" and "Philomena" (I travel a lot for work. Hotel PPV) and "12 Years a Slave" was by far the best in my opinion, and it wasn't even close. I actually think the voters got it right on this one. Seemed like "Dallas Buyers Club" and "Wolf of Wallstreet" were the only other real contenders, whic I agree with also.

I'm sure it is great and I want to see it. But how can a "voter" get it right...if he's never even seen the movie??? Would you want me voting for and telling people it's the best movie when I haven't even bothered to watch the movie...ya know, doing what I'm supposed to do?

No, I hear you. The voter obviously didn't serve their duty of watching the films in order to have an opinion. That is no doubt. I'm just saying that regardless of whether the process seems flawed, they got it right, imo.

edit - and who just voted on Wolf of Wallstreet? Little late to the party. ha
