Yahoo did a number on him and USC. If even a small percentage of this is true, USC can return Reggie's Heisman and about 10 scholarships per year for the next 5 years...and that's just for starters..............serious talk about USC forfeiting all victories in 2005 and half in 2004 (plus National Championship) - go to Yahoo sports Ncaa football!!

Has anyone gotten a 10 scholarships for 5 years penalty?

I could be wrong but I thought since SMU's Death Penalty that Alabama received the stiffest penalty and it wasn't close to that. The Death Penalty was on the table for Bama but not imposed. After appeal Bama lost 17 scholarships over 3 years, 2 year probation/bowl ban. It was estimated that Bama lost $4-5 million in revenue sharing.

Previously Alabama was placed on probation for 3 years for using Antonio Langham who played although he had signed with an agent. Bama forfeited all games he appeared in during the '93 season.

This all about sums it up !.........

This all about sums it up !.........

Sources told Yahoo! Sports that representatives of New Era were allowed into the USC locker room during the 2005 season. Ornstein and other agents frequented the USC sidelines during several games and numerous practices that season, according to published reports.

Also, McNair allegedly knew of Bush's involvement with the New Era venture before last season's national championship game against Texas, according to two sources. And at one point during the 2005 season, sources say Bush thought that Carroll knew about his parents' living arrangement and feared he was going to conduct his own investigation. Bush called Michaels, instructing that if Carroll called regarding the house to "tell him that you're a longtime family friend." Carroll never called Michaels.

Until the NCAA does something, in my mind, USC will continue to walk between the rain drops as always, simple as that...

Jesus! as an auditor If all that stuff in that article is true I cannot believe how stupid new era or whatever marketing company is for leaving such a trail.......i mean nieanderthal (sp?) mobsters at least tried and often did a decent job laundering money or hiring accountants to do it for them......And they never comemented on it either way (not denying it not confiming it......just i dont know what your talking about) this ornstein guy talked up a storm on the subject and basically admitted two violations already (giving out loans to family/friends and negotiations involving bush)......

"I'm inhterested to see how this turns out........in the article"And I haven't really given them anything since I signed Reggie," Ornstein said. "Reggie's been taking care of his family. On a couple of occasions, Reggie's (step)father borrowed money and he paid me back afterwards.''..........

"All of that was based on only if I got [Bush] as client," Ornstein told reporters at the NFL Draft in April. "It was only going to be if and when I signed him. No deal was ever consummated until Reggie signed with me after the season."

Yeah, it sucks but you are right.

USC will probably get nothing out of this. Barely a slap on the wrist...if that.

"I'm on my kids at every turn, every day, doing whatever I can to keep outside influences from clouding their thought processes." … Carroll talks to the Los Angeles Times about his effort to maintain a clean program.

This is just great stuff here.

If all this is true it is unbelivable or in this day and age probably not. I think it is dispicable any way you look at it. Whatever happened to playing for the love of the game and a good education. Since I am much older than most who post on this site I guess I am just a little naive when it comes to things like this.

This stuff goes on about everywhere and if you don't think so you just have blinders on and don't want to see the harsh reality. The difference in this case is that USC and Reggie Bush got caught doing it and I think the NCAA has to come down on them.

Just not in Division I-A college football.

Agreed here at Butler we have won 4 games now over the 4 years I have been here....if your on that team your playing for the love of the game....'cuz you certainly aren't playing for anything else.

The closest I ever came to a booster was shaking hands with the manager of Rural King for during a post game gathering.
