THE HUMBLING OF PENN STATE

Well, I know all that matters is the "W", but I would have loved it if the score remained 41-3, just for reasons of nation-wide vanity. But you know that Penn State fans feel just as shitty after a 41-17 loss as they would with 41-3.

All I have to say is that Quinn looked sort of shitty in the 1st quarter, but really got things together. The O-line performed better, even if they weren't matched up against an awesome D-coordinator. I was afraid we would go into week 3 without a TD pass, so it was a relief when the Shark got his first andit was great to see McKnight get his.

Ndukwe was all over the field, yet again. His hit on Derrick Williams is one for the highlight videos.

Last week Quinn only hit 7 of his first 16 passes. He started out 6 of 9 hit a flat spot but then got hot again. I haven't tracked the sequence of passes in this game but strikes me his performance was similar though with bigger gains for more total yardage and 3 TDs. Last week he had about 40 yds and a TD called back.

The OLine did perform better and if the development of Young and the Harris continues to work off the rust, they'll do all right. The chemistry was better (and there was no Tenuta).

I was glad to see Sharpley and the scrubs get PT. With this schedule I didn't expect many to see the field before October.
