Guys, I think we need to appreciate the effort laid out in the first half. Was it a perfect half? No... but this is one of the better squads in the Big Ten with an absolute fantastic defense. I'm very impressed.

I agree...I think they have made a number of mistakes, but they are playing very hard and they are making some big plays. Carlson was huge in that half.

One thing I want to see improve in the 2nd half is stopping the run. Their offensive line is doing a very good job opening holes and I think you have to give some credit to their fulback, who was reinstated to play against us.

I think next week's game will be close. But I can tell you one thing. We won't make those mistakes. Next week will be a revenge game. And we will be ready.

I do think Nd's defensive line is not that good. The LBs play well but are undersized. I think we will be able to establish the run next week, and I think we will have a time of possession advantage. But it will be up to Henne to make those 20 yard playaction passes. And Quinn needs to make his deep throws. It will probably come down to which QB can make the deep throws, as both teams' secondary are quite average.

I do not think Walker can run against our LBs. If Weis sticks to that run up the middle plan too long next week, we can take an early lead.

The key will be which team controls the game. If we can control the clock with a running game, we can afford to attack more on defense, which we did quite successfully in last year's game.

However, if Nd gets any momentum, I'm going to expect my team to get rattled. It's harsh, but Carr's teams have always had a thin psyche in the first road game.
I have to agree with most of this. Michigan is (and has been) the game that worrys me the most.

I think one thing that benefits us is that we've played two very tough teams whereas Michigan hasn't had any challenges yet. Whatever the case, I'd love to see a game like last year that is separated by 3 to 7 points and going down to the wire.

I give the 2nd quarter grade a B+...we really came around and responded especially both lines. Hopefully we keep this up in the 2nd half.

Oh, one more thing. I think the Carlson arrival party is here. I think he may break all the TE records this year, especially if defenses continue to blitz us like GT and Penn State have. He's been wide open over the middle at least 7-8 times so far.

..Next week will be a revenge game...

Well you earned that position.

...I do think Nd's defensive line is not that good. ...
Victor, common. ND has no pass rush. The Secondary was 110th last year. OSU 600+ yds. Quinn can't play in pressure. Both Lines are "terrible". We don't have a chance - except for Lloyd.

...It's harsh, but Carr's teams have always had a thin psyche in the first road game.

It is harsh to limit it to the first road game.

As weird as it is to say, I don't think we're playing that much better than we did against GT. If games go like this all season, fine. But there are still a lot of mistakes to correct.

Garbage interference call there.

That looked like a pretty good play! It looked like the offcial in front of the play made the call. How could he see it?
