Rivals has revamped their rankings after seeing more film and I think you all will be pleased to know that Chris Donald is now considered the top linebacker in HS.

Let's get 'em Charlie!

Doh, they changed it again. They put him #2 behind Galippo. Sounds like there is a struggle over there at Rivals about this kid.

After seeing some video of him I was impressed, hopefully ND could land him. Who would of thought a year that this year ND had the chance to land #1 QB, #1WR and a #1 LB. I know I did'nt.

regardless, he appears to be well thought of (and hopefully good). I hope they land this young man. Being from TN, I could never see enough TN boys on the Irish roster.

Galippo shouldn't be considered this high in the rankings......okay maybe for now. But we all know in a couple of years he's going to have some serious hangbags in no time. Meet your mentor, Brian "manzeer" Cushing. What a coup it would be to land Donald.......and Smith

I have a feeling, when this recruiting class is complete, Vols fans won't be too happy with us. We can potentially land 3 of the top 4 Tenn guys.

They should realize that it's not our fault they suck.

Harrison, Donald, Walker...w/ Tate maybe falling through the cracks.

Harrison, Donald, Walker...w/ Tate maybe falling through the cracks.

I would hate to see Golden Tate fall through the cracks. I live between Hendersonville and Gallatin...so he plays about 5 mins. to 10 mins. from my home. And Tate is one hell of a player. He appears to be maturing as well, both mentally and physically. While, he still loves to have the ball in his hands (4 TDs in week 0 of the season), he acted as a major decoy (without being upset) on some big plays in the game. He is also not as big as most of his profiles claim, but he does appear at least to have a little more muscle mass than last season.

TN Divison II ranks have produced some good players in recent years. Guys like Patrick Turner USC-WR (if you don't know him yet you soon will), Ingle Martin GB Packers-QB, Tory Fleming TN Titans-FB, Barry Turner Neb-DE, the two kickers for Auburn Bliss and Vaughn, there are a few more as well.

Although, I'm not sure if Golden Tate will turn out as well as some of these players, I do believe that he is a very good player and could help the Fightin' Irish in a number of ways.

There I have said my peace and now we will just have to wait and see how it unfolds.

Apparently Donald will overtake Galippo, but it won't be announced formally until next week online. Check out my other thread for the new Rivals Top 50.

I used to live in Memphis...We will see how he does against crappy D-II Father Ryan tonight. I have seen players as good as Tate get offers from Middle to Lower tier D-1 Schools, but not elite schools. After seeing film, I am still not sold, b/c be honest...You know how bad that talent is he plays against. If you want to see a sweet ass back who is a freshmen in HS, check out 205 lb Eric Watson out of Memphis' CBHS. Joseph Doss out of Melrose a couple of years ago was as good, if not better than Tate, and is only at the U of Memphis. C'mon...The problem I have noticed that the thing about TN, is that our people pee on themselves like excited dogs when a kid with any sort of talent comes out. Right now, I just don't buy him...I buy Harrison & Donald...I am not knocking Tate on a D-1 level, I'm just saying that I don't know that he is ND Caliber. (Don't cite ESPN as a source of credibility in recruiting rankings...Those seemed a lil piss poor, but who knows?)

I understand that the talent that he is playing isn't always up to snuff. But Knoxville Catholic is a D-I 3A school and Huntington is D-I 2A. If you visit http://www.tssaa.org and look at the schedules, I think you will agree (maybe not) that JPII plays a tougher schedule than both. So, I'm not real sure why buy into Donald and Smith, but not Tate. Personally, I like all three and hope they end up Irish.

By the way, I know they are just recruiting services, but Rivals and Scout both rate Golden Tate as a better prospect than Harrison Smith.

The thing about Donald is that from his video, you can tell he is immensely talented. He has the ability. He's athletic, he can read the offense, he's a great tackler, and he puts a lot of energy into games.

Those are exclusive qualities; it doesn't really matter what the level of talent is he's playing against. He'd be a 5 star on any Ohio high school team, I can tell you that much.

How much will this change the race to get Donald, you guys think it will change his thinking at all about where he will go, or will it still be a race between us and Tenn?

The bad news: Gary Gray is 29. Odds are he's lost his 5th star---not that it really matters, but I'm vain where recruiting is concerned. Deonte Thompson is 28, so he may also be a 4 star now; Thompson could be a Sam Young situation.. On August 26, 2005, no one thought Sam Young would end up Irish.

Actually, Nintendo had you beat...Anyone remember one of the best NES games of all time? Pro Wrestling? The Piranha guy had a flying shoulder smash if I am not mistaken...
