I'm not too family, but I have seen them in the jerseys once I believe. I think it's a ploy.

It is a darker royal blue, sort of like the Dallas Cowboys dark jerseys.

When Bobby Ross became head football coach, he changed to Navy blue jerseys with white and gold accent colors

That's what I remember. They would wear gold jerseys in rivalry games.

Dark colors only effect comfort when the sun's out. It won't make any difference for a night game.

Yeah it will prolly be middle to low 80's with high humidity at the start of the game and only cool off so the Dark uniforms will not hinder them one bit.

They were more deserving of the national title than Colorado was. That was the year that Colorado needed 5 downs to beat Missouri at the end of the game from 1st and goal, and then needed the bogus illegal block called on Rocket's punt return for a touchdown at the end of the game.

GT was a solid team back then and was deserving of the title that year....I have to admit they looked pretty sharp in those blue uniforms.

It's just weird, because I kept trying to think back to those uniforms, and I can't recall having ever seen them wear blue uniforms. I remember the gold uniforms. And for some reason I could have sworn that GT also wore black unis. Maybe they were really dark blue and I just never knew it.

Agree on all accounts. I was still in the military then and was deployed to Saudi Arabia. I watched that game with a Colorado fan and even he admitted it was a BS call. ND lost 10-9 and I was pissed for a week.

They were kinda funky uniforms....in some light they looked really dark and almost black and when they caught the light the right way they looked metallic blue. I always considered those uniforms way before their time; they had one hell of a defense down there during that era.

Yeah its not really the heat thats the killer its the humidity.

Chan said his GT team was leaderless about a week ago, must be some kind of stupid ploy, i would have thought their 28 point loss to a Mountain West team in their bowl game would a have been enough motivation. The Jackets always quit, we come out in the no-huddle hang a couple scores on em force a turnover and they'll quit, regardless of their sweet blue jerseys.
