Join the one we have going now! We're only in Week Two / Week Three. We had to start over because our original dynasty file got corrupted. We're playing a modified Big XII league (modified because we added Nebraska back into the conference and UTSA so we could have a championship game at Reliant Stadium).

If memory serves me right the remaining teams are:

Kansas State
Iowa State
Oklahoma State
West Virginia

Two games a week, Heisman difficulty with some slider action

Hey all, sorry for not getting the dynasty advanced last night...it will be this evening when I get home from work. It is worth noting though that IrishLion and I could not get our game played no matter what. We tried backing out and coming back into the match, leaving out custom play books, you name it. I am not really sure what that is going to mean for the future but I want to see if anyone else runs into the same problem when I forward the week.

In the last dynasty, we had User vs. User games and they went off ok so far as I know (mine did anyway)...but I think I remember some people have trouble and then the file got corrupted and that was that. So, we'll wait and see if the next User vs. User matchup causes one or both systems to freeze and crash. Please post in here and let me know what, if any, problems you encounter. Thanks all!

Ummm...so what's the deal guys? Half the field hasn't played this week. Lion and I couldn't play, but there's like four other User games against big teams no less haven't been played. Everyone still interested in playing or what? We're supposed to advance Wednesday and Sunday nights. I didn't get a chance to advance it last night but was going to today. Nebraska is playing Ohio State, OU is playing Florida State...Lion and I are having to simulate our game. Let me know what's up guys.

Just lost to LSU 19-14. Really getting hard to stick with the dynasty, it's just not realistic at all. I can't pass at all and every QB I play is the second coming of PEYTON MANNING!

No, your Ohio State game didn't count so lucky break for you! As for the Peyton Manning clones, I'll adjust the CPU's QB Accuracy a little and see how that works out. One thing I'm definitely leery of is the User vs. User games because we're going to have a lot. If those don't work right, then it's better for us to be playing games with teams that would rarely ever face each other except at Bowl Season. I'm going to look into the issue, but when Lion and I tried to play our head to head matchup it failed every single time. His system would lock up and freeze, requiring a hard reboot. I don't know where the problem lies, but what I do know is two-fold:

1. Another online dynasty I am in with one of my friends has had no problems at all, but we also have never had a head to head human matchup.

2. The previous dynasty we had allowed for user vs. user games so maybe it's something we're doing, something that has changed, or the great unknown.

I don't like the idea of playing only CPU teams and then letting the CPU sim any times we might cross paths, BUT I will say that would even be more fun than just playing a dynasty by ourselves offline. So, either way, we'll figure it out. But, for now, please get your games in!

EDIT: I looked into it and most people say it's either when one player has the uniform packs downloaded and the other doesn't. Or, it's the "don't save the online dynasty file each time...download it fresh every time and delete the one from your machine. My suggestion is we all delete the dynasty file from our machines, download it fresh each time and see if that does the trick. I don't know if custom play books are a problem (I use two) so it might be worth looking into not using those too. I'll contact Lion and see if we can work out our game as a trial run.

Last season after finishing games it wouldn't save and it gave the message "commish made changes...etc;" I was able to avoid further issues by NOT saving the file. Not sure if that's still going on or not but its helped me.

It's too bad out dynasty has been having a tough time moving forward. I was reading online that "potentially" custom playbooks can cause problems with head to head games. I was using one but have now deleted it. I'm willing to try anything to get moving again. Best of luck guys.

Ok guys, here is "the plan". I am going to go ahead and move the dynasty forward tonight (sorry for the delay, IrishLion and I just can't get our schedules to align right at the moment). So we'll SIM that one. Now, moving forward, I am interested in seeing if other User vs. User games experience problems with getting the game to play. Let's try having NO ONE save the dynasty file after games and NO ONE use any custom play books against each other or the CPU. Sucks, but may be necessary to avoid problems.

Then, let's go along and see how it plays out. Because the thing is with the type of dynasty we have, user vs. user games are an enormous part of it and if those aren't going to work there is no reason to get too far into it. The alternative would be taking teams in separate conferences and not playing each other except perhaps in a bowl. That isn't as cool as us being in the same conference, but at least it's better than just playing against the CPU alone all the time.

So, I will get it advanced tonight and we'll go from there. Thanks for your patience guys!

Had to restart bc I forgot to change my playbook.
Kansas upsets #6 Georgia on the road 24-21.

Aaron Murray was clutch. He rarely missed a receiver and threw for 3 TDs. I knew the only way I was going to beat them is to win time of possession. They ended up having ball less than 5 minutes. I ended up forcing 3 & out with about 1:25 left and had a 25 yd punt return to get me in FG range.

Welp just put a whoopin on Louisville only to have the game freeze while it was displaying my coach XP earnings and showing highlights. I was in South Bend all weekend and now I have to head to work, so no time for a replay tonight. So Dre, if you deem it okay, I wouldn't mind an advance extension until tomorrow.

And this shits is getting old with all the issues lol.

Alright guys, let me give us a little SOTD (State of The Dynasty) address:

First off, I have to say that there has been a definite lack of damns given to getting games in by the deadlines. I mean, it's not a super huge deal but the deadlines are in place to try and keep things moving. It seemed we were doing a much better job of it when we were rolling the American Conference teams, but that was also before we started encountering problems that may have turned some off. As of last night, the only ones that were done with games were Catholics, Odywon and then I was getting on to knock mine out. Lion was getting his done as he posted above. Hell, my best friend hadn't played his (which is not a tremendous surprise...he was always last in our dynasties too. Some things never change).

But, this is leading to my point. We have like nine people I think and of that only four are really that active (or seem that way). No disrespect to those who aren't, it's just if we're going to have a successful dynasty we need to BE ACTIVE. Yes, the game has issues...it always has issues. But it's workable, especially when we follow some of the work arounds. The thing is though, we have to want to do it.

So, here is what I suggest we do and I definitely welcome feedback. I still find playing against the computers for all the things we can earn, building a coach up, etc. fun. Even more so this year because of the coach build feature. In fact, another best friend of mine and I have been playing an online dynasty with just us two and it's been great. We started out as coordinators at crappy schools with the intent of seeing how far we can go and where we end up. It's great fun, and we haven't even faced each other yet. The journey and how we're building our coaches has been very interesting.

He started with Old Dominion, then moved to a head coaching position with UMass. I started with Colorado State, and didn't get an HC offer as quick but I did get hired as the OC for an improbable #6 Louisiana Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns! Our third season is almost over and I have no idea who's going to offer me my first HC position and that's really entertaining. We haven't had any problems with the dynasty either.

Now, this leads me to the idea:

1. We need to streamline down to whomever is active. If it's three people, it's three people.

2. Do we continue with the "all in the same conference" concept? Player vs. player seems troubled, but the work arounds seem there (don't save the dynasty file, don't use custom play books or uniforms, etc). But, being all in the same conference raises the amount of times we have to do this considerably. Do we want to trudge through it until (if) EA fixes it? Or do we want to take ANY teams, especially teams that won't play each other much except maybe in bowl season?

3. Do we want to do it like what my buddy and I are doing? Take a coordinator position at the lowest rated schools in the game and then work our way up through the ranks, see which big time programs we land at?

Please chime in...I just want to make the best and most fun experience we can...an engaging one people are looking forward to playing.

I'm down for whatever. I've always stayed active, minus the times I've had issues with shitty EA product right before we are scheduled to push the advance.

My favorite thing to do on my own is start as an offensive coordinator at a crappy school and work my way up, but that's relatively easy to do on your own when you can play 2 or 3 games per day. I think it would be really cool to try it online with you guys. If our crappy teams meet in bowl games, awesome. If not, maybe we'll see eachother in year three or four as head coaches. It would also limit the amount of opportunities EA has for screwing over our user games (though this shouldn't be a problem moving forward if everyone avoids saving the file from now on).

I vote for starting as coordinators at crappy schools if people are willing to restart again and stay invested. It would be awesome to see where 4+ users end up after two or three seasons.

Ok, I'll chime in. I consider myself pretty easy going and have generally gone with the flow, BUT its been very frustrating with players not playing their games. If your committed and want to be apart of the dynasty than please play. It's not fair to the others that want to keep moving. The game has been out since August and we've completed 1 season. I understand we've had issues with EA & file corruption but even so, most of the delays has been from waiting for others to play their games. I understand people have full time jobs, family, etc; so do I. Lets try and get back on schedule regardless what decision goes forward.

I'd personally like to take Head Coaching positions and stick with that. Maybe we would get better involvement if we picked our own teams. Lets decide and play.

I would prefer to have four really active people that want to play often instead of nine people that play occasionally. That having been said, it would be easy to do either or (starting as a head coach, as a coordinator, or a mixture of both). I just think the coordinator aspect as you begin (especially at a springboard school you know you aren't staying with) is very entertaining. I have zero interest in the Ragin' Cajuns in my other online gig, but it's pretty cool to see where the offers take me and my friend. I know Andy had mentioned a bit of lost interest because he likes playing Texas, so if we did that it would probably have to be a mixture league.

With power programs it seems to me the emphasis is always on winning NC's, Heismans and awards. With the crappy team coordinator route, those goals are still there for the league but then you add in skill and luck. as well as a broader sense of where everyone is angling to try and get to (best job possible). Either way, we need consistency and stern adherence to the advance days and times. Miss one, warning, miss two, out. Always welcome back, but you have to keep up.

Just out of curiosity, if you can play any team, who would you pick and why? HC, OC or DC?

Do people want to go all super competitive for titles and awards right away (Head Coach, any team you want) or competitive with the build up being part of the competition and fun as well (Coordinator, lowest rated teams in the game)? Just let me know fellas.

Changes I want to make:

Per ACamp's suggestion: Reduced QB Accuracy for both Human and CPU)
Slight bump in certain penalties (only ones I see called at all are face masking)

I think a free-for-all would be cool. Andy could start right away at Texas and turn them into a power, Dre could start somewhere and work his way up and Catholics could start as a head coach wherever he would like.

I would probably start as Bobby Petrino's offensive coordinator at Western Kentucky so I could control the run game with Antonio Andrews pounding the rock. They have decent talent but recruiting at WKU is tough, so I could ride it out for a couple of seasons having fun with the running game and then jump ship when appropriate.

Plus, if we have guys that start as HC's at bigger programs and begin to build powerhouses right away, I know what level I'm trying to get to with my coach eventually. I jump from WKU to a coordinator job at a big school or a HC job at a mid-major, then move on to a bigtime HC job, and then try to recruit and turn the big program around. At that point, some guys have established nice programs already and I can bring a new team into the national spotlight to compete.
