The first time an Auburn fan asks you what you think of Bama's football team, just reply "PUNT BAMA PUNT!" You'll be instantly accepted even though you are a Yankee.

I've got a sister-in-law and her husband that are Auburn grads. Their daughter graduated from Alabama and the youngest son just finished his freshman year.

I don't have a preference but you can do well betting on the underdog in the Iron Bowl whoever it is.

I've got no beef with either of these schools. Both are fun to watch. Who I root for in any given season really depends on current personnel and the situation. I really like watching Kenny Irons, so this year I'll probably go with Auburn. Plus, if Bama wins, they'll probably claim 6 national titles from it, so that gives me another reason.
