Okay, I've got a gripe. Maybe I'm just a purist, but why must they do away with the bowl names? If you haven't heard, the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl has now been renamed to the Chick-fil-A Bowl.

I know it's a money thing, but what was so wrong with the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl? Commercialism is killing off the purity and history of college football.

Wow! That sucks. Reminds me of the stadium names. When Denver changed their name from Mile High Stadium to Invesco Field, I was furious. Commercialism is out of control and no one can stop it!

Must be Bush's fault. It happened on his watch.

Oh the irony.

Bowl games have never been about anything but commericalism. They were started by local chambers of commerce to fill hotel rooms and restarurants.

Regardless of the name the SEC will still get its cut.

Get used to this.

My favorite baseball team used to play in Comiskey Park.

Now they play in U.S. Cellular Field. The structure never changed, nor did the location. But the name did.

Jigga:

Can a person see any part of Lake Michigan from within Comiskey Park. Perhaps in the upper seats down first base line????

If they can, they have better eyes than I do.

Dear Lord....

Basically, the park sits right on the Dan Ryan Expressway...I mean literally right on it.

The Lake is 5 miles to the East, but you can't see it from the park.

I'll be at the game Sunday if it finally decides not to rain in the Chicago area.

Thanks, I knew it was real close to the lake, driven by it many times on the way to ND. Just did not know if you could see from inside. I have never been in the new Park.

I think I would rather not play in a bowl game if ND went 8-4 in a game called the Chick-Fil-A Bowl, or Poulan Weedeater Independence Bowl, or Micron PC .com bowl, or the Insight bowl, or Capital One Bowl.... well you get the point, I mean how do you not laugh when you hear of the Bluebonnet Bowl or the Motor City Bowl or the Blockbuster Bowl, or the Michigan Bowl, oops I mean the Alamo Bowl

I HATE the corporate sponsor names on the bowls. It just seema like it makes it cheap or lame... I don't even want the corporate name in front of the REAL NAME.

The lake is...

The lake is...

...1 mile from Comiskey (I will neve say US Cellular Field). It is 2 El stops from my place...Roosevelt, 22nd/Chinatown and then Comiskey. Also, my friend has a World Series Ring as she works for the Sox....pretty sweet, it is.

You know something...

I went to the upper deck yesterday and went 20 rows up to the top on the third base side. You can see the Lake, but barely.

I keep forgetting all of the remodeling they've done in the last few years. The outfield concourse and upper deck are redone so that the sight lines are much better.

ChiND...I have been taking the blue line to Wrigley and blue to red line to Sox Park since I was 11. The Chinatown stop is my favorite because it has the best view and is the last stop before 35th Street to get off at the park. I remember riding the L with my dad to games and seeing Chinatown, knowing we were almost there.
