NCAA Football 2007 Mini Review

Just picked up the game for Xbox 360 a few hours ago and I've had some time to sink my teeth into it.

I'll be happy to answer any questions.

Pros:
- Great Graphics
- Beautiful in-game animations (running tackling falling)
- Commentary has been upgraded.
- I like the new playcall screen where you can pick by formation player or situation.
- Notre Dame has a great team overall

Cons:
- Still kind of feels like Madden 06
- I was used to the Old-Gen games on Xbox and PS2 so this will take some time to get used to
- Lack fo features compared to Old-Gen...real head scratcher here the 360 version is missing some features such as ESPN Magazine, Create-A-School, Spring Game
not a huge deal but really confusing?

Aldridge is ranked an 85, Reuland an 80, Jackson a 77, DJ Hord is an 80
Sam Young a 79, We have no freshman Linebackers though? really thin on depth there first year of recruiting gotta land some LB

PS. played Vanderbilt on Freshman setting and won 42-7 @ home.

I am getting the ps2 version today. Does anyone know if they brought the create a play feature back? I also would really like the option to choose my season to end in a playoff, like they had in NCAA 2000 or 2001.

I thought there was always an option for a playoff in the other versions...but not that I would ever use it so I don't know.

Suprisingly Zack Frazer is our second best QB rated a 79
Sharpley is a 77
Jones is a 75
Wolke a 74

You seem to be able to cause more fumbles (you fumble more also)

It's actually possible to block kicks now which is pretty cool

I agree with the Irish Team being overall really good on that game.... I have the 360 version and I do have to say that Shark catches everything, and richard Jackson is fast as hell on the game....faster than his rating..... give him the ball in space and it is 6..... DJ has great hands and the refreshing fact that they aren't dropping many balls is either a good indication of our team...or the game is easier to to catch balls on. I am 8-0 on my dynasty so far.... the running game seems tougher than usual... but Brady is pretty damn dominating.

Pros-
Great graphics.... and I mean great...
Expanded playbook....
Better overall animations....
stadiums are so real in atmosphere
Gameplay is different...but fun

cons-
limited customization of the players....other than name, and where they are from....not much else
Replay screen is too small..... and I have a 42'' plasma...and still squinting to see the Quinn to Shark TD replays.....
Toryan smith and richardson aren't on there...so LB is pretty thin..like previously reported...

Player ratings...
Brady- he is great-needs to be harder to bring down though
OL- too many sacks.... we are better than the game gives us credit for up front
Walker- shifty.... and can break the big one..... I seem to be either 2 yards per carry or take it 50+ with him so far...
Alridge- really good for a freshman back on the game....tough runner... good accel...
recievers as a whole are good........ west needs to be faster.... but DJ is a real good 3rd reciever...

so far.... 8-0 #2 overall in the BCS behind Criminal SU....I mean OSU..sorry..
avg 42 pts
giving up about 10
Quinn so far has 27 tds... 2 ints ...and about 2700 yards
Defense is pretty quick...minus our LBS
more to come.....I just landed the #1 Qb recruit in in season recruiting...he is from cali...and chose between us SC and Cal..... pretty damn close to jimmy..... so the game is pretty weird in its accuracy....

great review, I agree with it all.

Don't you feel EA is just getting at us though? They know this is a solid College football title but leaving out some of those features I feel like they are just holding it back for next years version. Keeping it attractive and Keep the $$ coming in.
