"My South Carolina visit was alright, but it wasn't anything like Georgia. Georgia's coaches were great about everything. They didn't pressure me in any way to come there, and I liked that. They just got to know me and showed me what all they have to offer."

"I'm thinking I'd like to make an early decision. If I do, it's probably going to be Georgia."

This kid is the premier WR in the Class of 2008. As you can see, Georgia is waaaaaay out in front on him. Hopefully we can get to him before he verbals.

Anybody see the piece in Sports Illustrated about him being the "Where Will They Be?" athlete for football? Man, I hope JC and CW get on this kid soon even if we do being in an amazing '07 class.

Is the only reason Georgia is a "near lock" because he had a great visit or does he have some sort of connection there?

I saw it alright. They took a bunch of male and female teenaged athletes and predicted when they'd arrive on their respective professional scenes. Not sure how I feel about that. I think you to wait until they're at least done with their junior years of high school before you start looking at them as COLLEGE prospects let alone pro.

I read an article about Green somewhere on Rivals a while back. He is supposed to be as good as they come. I'm sure Steve Spurrier will be all over him. I have to think the 2008 class of Irish WR will be one or two spots tops.

Yeah, he sounds like a virtual "lock" for Georgia at this point....like Jigga said I think that if we just land 1 really solid and good WR in the '08 class it will tide me over.

Yeah, he has a profile. You should check the recruiting profiles first.

The hype machine is rolling on this kid. Randy Moss comparisons and cliches are already dripping from the lips of the guru recruitniks out there in football land.

what makes this kid such a great player? i saw over on his profile that he had over 1200 yards as a soph. and over 1400 as a junior.

He hasn't had anything as a jr. His junior year starts in a couple months.

From the limited highlights I've seen of him, he's very advanced for a kid who is going to be a junior in high school this fall. He's definitely one of those tall, lanky "go up and get it" kind of receivers.

He was a major factor in their state championship victory last season. Not many high school teams get carried by a sophomore in the title game.

1200 yards as a freshman is outstanding! Is he a Jimmy Clausen type where he got held back a year and he's really older than his classmates?

At 6-4 he is a tall receiver and can run at 4.6, 190. Impressive yardage, sophomore or senior. But I don't think the4.6 or 30 inch vertical jump are Mosslike. A comparsion to receivers like Shark and Stovall seems more appropriate.

stovall and the shark are not burners but they do have excellent football speed.

By the time he's completed his senior year, he should be taller and faster.

People around here are saying the same types of things about Steve Filer of Mt. Carmel in terms of the "combine' numbers. He was only a sophomore last season. This year he'll probably blow up. Their skills will catch up to their physiques soon enough.

I believe in the Sports Illustrated article a few weeks ago a Randy Moss reference was made.

The highlight reels certainly suggest Stovall type skills.

Green didn't have much to say when asked who was behind Georgia on his list?

"Nobody is really close to them," said Green. "That is really the only school I am thinking about right now."
That's 2 Top 2008 kids likely to commit before the game really even gets going. Ah well!

Rivals is reporting that A.J. Green received an offer today. I'm still waiting to confirm from a secondary source. Don't get your hopes up on this kid, though, because he still seems to have Georgia written all over him.

ORANGEBURG - Summerville used a balanced attack, mixed in spectacular plays by receiver A.J. Green, who scored two touchdowns, and used its big-game experience to avoid costly penalties as the Green Wave remained unbeaten in a 41-19 victory over Orangeburg-Wilkinson at Bruin Stadium.

In handing the Bruins (3-1) their first loss of the season, Summerville got coach John McKissick his 535th career victory and set up a home showdown with unbeaten Stratford (4-0) next Friday.

The Bruins did manage to outgain Summerville 296-260, with the bulk of the offense coming in the fourth quarter when quarterback Devin Frederick completed two touchdown passes of 90 and 30 yards.

Summerville jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter.

The Green Wave controlled the first five minutes of the game with a time-consuming, 11-play drive which relied strictly on running the football and ended with Jereme Green's touchdown scamper from 3 yards out.

A short punt by Phillip Dukes set up the Green Wave's next score from 26 yards out. Summerville would unleash its air attack as quarterback Reid McCollum completed two passes to Green, the second one into the endzone from 10 yards out. Green caught four balls for 66 yards.

After O-W made it 14-7, Green helped the Wave regain the momentum by running a short slant and eluding several defenders and got the ball down to the 1-yard line where Michael Blevins went in to make it 21-7 with 9:47 left in the first half.

Wave kick returner Brandon Millhouse capitalized on a short kick, taking a punt from his own 32 and following a wave of blockers into the end zone to make it 28-7 at halftime.

Green commited to UGA. Shouldn't be a shock to anyone here. Never thought we had a shot at him since he up rooting for the Dawgs. If we land Floyd, Buckner, and Kemp, I'd be fine with that.

He might have verballed to UGA, but this isn't over by a long shot.

He's got 16 months until he signs his LOI.
