Grammar, even spelling.
I know they're football experts and language may not be their forte, but if they're pretending to be any kind of publication, they should at least get someone with a high school education to correct their errors.
It really shouldn't be that hard. They do a great job of presenting information (most of the time), but they're incredibly sloppy and it forces me to view them as amateur.
I don't mean to sound snobby (I'm sure I do), but I couldn't keep it in much longer.
as?
You know where it really begins to become a problem? When they get quotes from players and (most likely) mess it up, making it look as though they're dumb. It's unfair. Some prospects do speak like they're 8 years-old (just look at OSU's and USC's classes), but not all of them do. And sometimes the writers are sloppy to the point where their lack of understanding (or caring) about grammar---sometimes even diction---influences the way a quote turns out. So a 17 year-old kid who may be one of the most intelligent people at their high school, is presented as a dumbass.
My point is, it's their job, and they're screwing up on the easiest part.
