You know I've never been much of a madden fan. I just don't get into it as much. I do buy sometimes bc I have a few friends that will ONLY play madden bc they don't like college football. I know weird.
Did you get it? If so how is it?
I ended up leaving work a bit early and picking it up right at midnight. Played one game on the base "Pro" skill level just to see what it's all about. I'll end up bumping to "All Madden" once I start a franchise, which will be a tough adjustement haha.
I was pleased, but I felt like the gameplay was very similar to last year's game. Then again, I only played last year's version at my friend's a few times since I didn't buy it, so I'm not completely familiar with the differences.
The presentation is spectacular, very clean and pleasing to the eye. A LOT of customization options for teams, rosters, playbooks, uniforms and settings. There is an entire tab dedicated to downloading custom community rosters, playbooks and settings, which blew my mind. I guess this allows groups of users to hold a "fantasy draft" and compete against eachother with rebuilt NFL teams.
Career mode is nice as it all operates under the same "game mode." You can play as an individual player, with EXP bonuses and skill progression; as a coach with control over the team, drafting, FA signing, etc. as well as a coaching skill tree like NCAA; or you can be the owner, controlling everything like in coach mode but also dealing with all of the finances and stadium customization.
There is already an updated roster file to download that looks to be pretty up-to-date with current preseason rosters. I found some glaring absences, like a lack of Jonas Gray on Miami's roster, but my hometown Bengals looked pretty good.
Played my game as the Bengals and abused Pittsburgh's defense with Giovanni Bernard and Tyler Eifert. Could've thrown for 500 yards all to Eifert on "Pro" setting, but I wanted to get to bed so I chewed clock with Bernard lol.
