Nah I get most of this stuff reddit's college football section. I only follow ND players and coaches + Johnny Manziel. That dudes tweets are hilarious.

This one is so obvious it makes me wonder if he actually tweeted it. Becuase it blatantly screams "IM BUYING RECRUITS" it really makes me wonder if someone got his phone and tweeted that from his account.

AKA Hacking

Something is definitely up at UK. It just dosen't make sense for Stoops to be there and for their recent upswing on the recruiting front.

i get kids taking other kid's phones and tweeting/posting stupid sh#t for a joke....BUT how many of you have had your phone taken by someone and they post something on one of your accounts??? first of all how do they know the passcode? and how often would you leave your phone around where it could be taken from someone?? im not talking about at home but when i am in the community it isn't laying around for others to take...so this excuse is really getting annoying

I know that i have a bad habit of when i am sitting around a bar top, i take my phone out of my pocket and set it on the bar... Its possible.

Yes, 99% of coaches probably have their phones locked with a password. But if they arent, social media apps are almost always loged onto on the phone, so that everytime you go to it, you arent re-entering your password. So, it is absolutely possible that someonoe with an agenda, got the phone that wasnt protected with a password. Went to the twitter app, which that account was already signed on, and then tweeted this little gem.

I am by no means defended this guy. I am just saying that it is possible. My brain is just telling me that this guy couldnt be this stupid? Could he? I mean, cmon...

it seems its common way out for people who need to be retracting statements put into the public domain by social networks now.

Hacking excuse is lame and played out. With the way celebs and athletes fall back on that excuse, you would think theres a hacker in every Beverly Hills club or sports locker room just waiting to snatch a phone and ruin someone's day.

I don't know -- it sorta just sounds like a line to a rap song. But with "recruits" swapped-in for whatever was there originally.

You do know that phones can be hacked just as easily as computers, and the fact that a vast majority of smart phones don't have virus protection and contain just as much, if not more personal info that pc's is alarming. I'm not saying that this UK coach got hacked, but it really isn't hard to plant a bug in someone's phone so that it can be remote accessed at a later date. It's just that most people with those skills wouldn't waste their time planting fake recruiting violations on SEC schools, in addition to that coach's tweet sounding much more like some song verse in the coach's misguided attempt o seem hip and connect with recruits.

That may be the case, but I would still estimate that 80-90% of the hacking excuses for social media stem from idiots that post something and later have to retract it to save face. Thats why I feel the hacking excuse is played out. It's basically the PC response for anyone that doesn't want to say "I said something racially offensive\illegal\paints me in a bad light. Oops!"
