Wow. Someone at Scouts, Inc. really likes Neal. He has a higher grade than Sidell Corley (81), Ben Martin (84), Luther Davis (80) and a plethora of others. In fact, I think they have him the highest rated DE this year so far.

as the season goes on i think a lot more people will realize just how good kerry neal is. when all is said and done neal will be a four star player and could be a top 100 by scouts and rivals.

88? WOW!! Fantastic. Not bad for a kid who no one knew about. Put your faith in Charlie. He knows the talent and what he wants.

IMO Neal is better than Martin. I've seen Martin play and his play didn't jump off the field at me, but he has tremendous up side. He could grow into a great DE, but right now I think he's being hyped up a bit. Neal on the other hand, is just now starting to recieve his due.

I have to agree on Martin. I think the potential is there with his current skill and his frame.

On film, Richetti Jones seems to be the most impressive DE I've seen thus far and I really like Neal as well, but I'd rank Tez Wilson second to Jones and Neal third.

My opinion means little....CW likes them all.

Remember He drafted Brady in the 6th round. So, the man knows talent. This is why ND is back on the map for a National Championship. Recruiting good ball players that no one else had an idea about.

it's to bad that ND won't land either wilson or jones.

IMO ND's DE class will fill out to be trattou, neal and martin.

I'm impressed, but I'm not surprised. These are some of the best players to get. I really like the look on this kid's face. He seems intese and that's always a good thing for a defensive player.

This is a good example, or explanation, of why recruiting ratings aren't as important as they're thought to be, or at least are taken the wrong way by fans. Is Neal a better player now than he was a week ago?

It may be naive of me, but I trust Weis and his staff more in their ability to evaluate talent than I do Scout or Rivals.

Kerry Neal is tied with Allen Bailey(both 88) for the best DE in the country, out of what espn has evaluated so far. By the looks of it all 80 rated or higher get into the ESPN 150 We got a great guy!

I wouldn't exactly say we are out of the running.

The fact he hasn't committed to Texas may actually be indicative of him consider other options. While most person consider him a UT lean, if he was such a lean I would imagine he would consider UT without putting much time into it. Most people born and bred in Texas are either UT fans or A&M fans which lads to incredible loyalty to them.

I figure, since Jones hasn't committed quite yet, he isn't sure UT is the place for him. They are probrably leading but it least gives the illusion other schools are considering which could provide a semblance of hope.

Personally, I want him and I remain hopeful.

in addition to our chance with Jones,

Do not count out Wilson, we are still leading for him, and I don't know why anyone would be down on him being Irish, so what if he is getting some love from everyone right now, he liked ND before we gave him any love when it was wide open for him, why would that change now when we are recruiting him hard? Exactly it wouldn't change, just because schools jump on board doesnt mean we are going to lose out on him, this is a new staff, a staff who can recruit with anyone, this isnt the losers from before who woudl get beat out on every kid, Wilson will be irish, as far as jones goes im skeptical, but i would love to see him be irish

also, trattou won't be a de at ND, as has been written many places before he will be a dt, they are going to put him on the mullen plan, which seems to be working because mullen is just a monster now, and trattou has plenty of time to get in to the same shape

I think martin will be irish, then another de, not really sure who that will be maybe jones, or maybe someone else a little under the radar, then you add wilson and neal, both of which could end up as lb's or de's, like guys for the pat's who can put their hand down and rush or play in space. So i think we end up with two true de's and then wilson and neal who are more versatile

Trattou = Uncontrollable monster at DT when he gets on Mendoza's plan.
