If you aren't a member of ESPN Insider, IrishEnvy.com was mentioned in Bruce Feldmen's blog today.

The mention was in regards to our dilligent tracking (and Sherlock Holmesian detective work) on the travels of Charlie Weis yesterday in visiting several potential recruits in Florida and Georgia. Here is the blurb taking from Feldmen's blog:
"Thanks to the diligence of some ND fans, Irish backers -- and haters, too -- can track Charlie Weis' moves on the recruiting trail via the school's private plane. And if you're so inclined, you can choose to guess along with the die-hards about just who Weis is visiting on this message board thread.

I probably should say that this is just a tad over the top. Then again, I write a blog. So who I am to judge what passionate fans do with their time?"

Tad over the top? I call it passionate, but hey, whatever works for you. For those of you who are members of ESPN Insider, you can check out Feldmen's blog and scan to the "Random Stuff" section.

That's pretty cool. Congrats, this thing may grow out of your wildest dreams someday. Hey, you never know. The guy from ebay was just putting some dolls for his girl friend to sell on his required college web site.

Some days it's hard to believe that ESPN (which I hate) and ESPN.com (which I read daily) are produced by the same organization.

Congrats, Svoboda. When did you launch this site? It's really grown since I joined.

Svoboda, congratulations! I have to hand it to you guys. This site has come a long way over the past year. I know I don't post over here very often, but, I do read quite often. I will be contributing as a varsity member shortly.

And I have to say even though Jiggafini often gets the praise on this board (and he deserves every last bit), we also owe just as much to you Svoboda. The features you have added over the past year have really made this one of the better ND sites. I love what you have done with the recruit profiles over the past month or so. Great stuff!

Had meaning to give you your props and thought this topic was the right time to do it. Here's to a future of growth and great things for Irishenvy.com!

What is the story with the Irish Brogue website? I know we don't want to bash other sites here. And I really hope I don't offend anyone here, but, who ever writes for that site has some pretty outlandish predictions/information on the pulse of ND football and recruiting. I end it there. If I'm allowed, I'll elaborate.

Congrats on the name drop, and I hope it sends more people this board's way, but this site, from what I've seen (and this is why I registered here, though I read several ND boards), could not be any less ESPNized, and should be proud of it. Most other sports forums, even ND forums, are just ESPN-style shouting matches (only typed) with a minimum of real discussion, and no real points being made. This board, right now, has a higher level of discourse, and if anything should look down on ESPN, an entity that's gone a long way toward ruining sports, and has all but killed real sports journalism.

I dislike ESPN more than kickers.

Punters are okay. They're part of the defense. But kickers?

The ginger children of football.
