surprised by this too...thought he did a decent job, but had a couple bad losses mixed in there.

don't think he'll have to wait too long to get another job

I think that was in large part due to his integrity and refusal to do some of the "under the table" things his predecessors did.

Wouldn't go that far. From what I've gathered from friends at both UK and Minn, he's a very good coach, but is not Grade A recruiter. He recruited well at UK in the first couple years, but in my buddy's opinion, was just the receipient of UKs pre-existing condition and prowess. Just not as much "with the times" as others. His record (after the recruits he brought in the first couple years) did decline which would support my buddy's thoughts.

IMO, UCLA basketball is like Notre Dame football 5 years ago. Sleeping giant. They'll be back in the conversation with a good coach.

im with you on this.

If shaka is offered ucla and minny...and takes minny-he is a damn fool. no offense to minny, but he will have a lot to sell out there in westwood if he gets them back in the mix.
