I actually really like Alex Smith, but I just don't see him being successful in KC. I hope I'm wrong. KC has some good skill position guys, but I just don't see it working out for whatever reason.

Ugh...it has been a while since Kansas City had a quarterback worth anything, and it seems it will be a while longer.

Come on, man! Alex was having a good year last year before being replaced by Kaepernick. The year before he had a really nice game winning drive against the Saints in the playoffs. Early in his career he had a different offensive coordinator almost every season which did not allow him to develop. Now just when he was becoming a really solid QB he got benched for the supposed QB of the future. Alex can come to KC where he is the unquestioned franchise QB, has a coach with a history of success, and good weapons at his disposal with Charles, McCluster, Moeaki, (hopefully) Bowe, and Baldwin. I really like his chances to be successful and for the Chiefs to become competitive again. At least give him a shot before writing him off!

KC is a good place for Smith i dont think there will be much pressure or expectation and he wont have any serious competition for the job. Knowing Reid he will probably draft a young QB for the long term. 2 2nd round picks is a lot though when you are rebuilding a team.
