Honestly, would anyone care if we lose another 7-8 regular season games....if it meant we win the big east tournament and/or Elite 8 run or further.

The college basketball regular season is just a glorified exhibition season. I rather have Coach Brey make this mistake now, learn from it, and hopefully never do it again.

Also, Brad Stevens isn't leaving Butler for ND. We are and always will be a football school.

It only got to watch a little bit but the team obviously didn't want that game. It was not pretty. Knight was not good at all. If he is not the court and we are losing that's not a good sign. Biedschied took a lot of bad shots.

Puzzling as to why Cooley, Martin, and Sherman were on the bench at the end. Looked lost on offense for extended periods of time. Even though Cooley and Martin had off games, they are 2 of the best and by far the most experienced and they need to be on the court at the end of that game. Disappointing and it isnt even tournament time yet.

Ridiculous from Brey. Trying to ride Biedscheid even though he clearly didn't have his stroke, while sitting a super-senior like Martin and a Wooden candidate in Cooley. It just doesn't make sense.

Out of the polls and sitting at 2-2 in an average Big East.

You think the Big East is average, or do you think this is an average Big East compared to intra-conference strength?

Total choke job against Rutgers at home. Brey is not doing a good job with this team this year.

Clutch defense at the end to preserve the win, but there is no way Rutgers should have been in the game. Blew a 14-point lead.

Getting beat up pretty badly by an unranked G'Town team... at home. Very disappointed in this team so far in the conference. Haven't played well since Cincy away.

holy hell they are terrible tonight. 37 points with 5 min to go.

Georgetown on an 18-0 run after ND had cut it to 40-37.

Scott Martin has been shut down indefinitely with a knee injury. He hasn't played well at all the past couple games.

Scott has played poorly as of late but really hate to see him suffer another injury, had unfortunate amount already in his career. He has also seemed to be a glue guy that gets guys to play well together and makes quite a few hustle plays. Not related to Scott's injury but this team has been very disappointing. 2 home losses to middling Big East teams and nearly a 3rd to G'Town. I thought this team had the makings of a Sweet 16 team or better but haven't even looked like a tournament team lately. I still think the can get it together and be dangerous in March but going to take some serious improvement.

I am taking the wait til next year approach. They just don't have it. Wish Abromaitis could have gotten a sixth year over Martin. Abro is a much better player in my opinion. Martin is way to streaky. He can do good for 10 minutes and then disappear for games at a time. They are just like every Nd team during Breys tenure: live and die by the three. No movement on the offensive end. Rebounding is always suspect. With the guards ND have, we should be much better. There are times were I wish they would play a more up tempo game. And no, I don't believe this team could ever be a sweet sixteen team. The "Sherminator" has to be more of a inside presence.

Irish beat South Florida, not in particularly awesome fashion, 73-65. It's the Big East, every win is a good win.

They're now 16-4 (4-3), fourth place in the Big East. Not too shabby. The upcoming schedule gives the Irish a real chance to make some noise.

1/30: vs Villanova 13-7 (4-3)
2/02: at DePaul 10-9 (1-5)
2/04: at #3 Syracuse 18-2 (6-1)
2/09: vs #5 Louisville 16-4 (4-3)
2/13: vs DePaul 10-9 (1-5)
2/16: at Providence 10-10 (2-6)

If Brey can get this team to go 5-1, this season is back. But the Big East is stupid talented. Syracuse just lost to Villanova, and Louisville--#5 in the country--has the same record as Notre Dame (with losses to Georgetown and Villanova).

Villanova looked like crap earlier and just knocked off two top five teams. Look out.

Really? Why? Brey has had only one sweet sixteen team, with far more talent than this years.

Because March Madness.

Once again, meetings will be keeping me from seeing any of the game...

Big, big game... Nova is on a roll right now too.

As a Nova alum and fan, I can tell they played last week over their head. Due for a letdown unfortunately.
