49% of the internet is convinced he is gay, 50.99% think he created this for publicity. 0.01% think he's just a naive Mormon kid thousands of miles from home who got played in front of the entire country.

Time for bed, hopefully there will be something more concrete when I wake up.

I know it's cold comfort, but I'm a member of perhaps the worst trolling board on the intertronz, and they are laughing up a storm at Manti's gullibility, but after those tweets hit.. they're pretty much convinced he's just been rube'd.

Someone posted a thought earlier that talked about Kobe (rape) Big Ben (rape) and Ray Lewis (murder) all being forgot about.

None of those got this kind of press and hatred right off the bat.

There's a lot of tragedy here. There's a lot of sorrow here. But the thing I am most sad of, sad about is sorry. That the single most trusting human being I've ever met will never be able to trust in the same way again in his life. That's an incredible tragedy.

I honestly think Manti's character, kindness, and trusting, caring nature led to his naivete in this situation and allowed him to be taken advantage of. I really feel bad for the kid, assuming his innocence, and cannot believe someone would do this to such a great person.

I somehow feel selfish by questioning this, but I really hope that the kids in this recruiting class have the loyalty I've been thinking they have.

I hope this insanity isn't enough to push them out. They're kids, I wouldn't totally blame them... but I would blame them.
