Anybody here had it done? What procedure (Lasik, Lasek, other)?

I was told by my doctor at my yearly exam today I should be a candidate so I want to start exploring my options. Will be the first thing I save up for after I graduate in May.

I have been wanting to have it done myself for a while. My sister had it done about 10 years ago when she was in her mid-twenties and has had no ill-effects. Try and land a job with some good insurance, as they may cover a good amount of the cost too. Mine covers $1,000 towards the procedure, whcih works out to about 50% of the total cost I believe.

I got it, and it was the best decision I've ever made. I see 20/15 now and have had no side effects or other ill consequences. I'd simply recommend doing research and finding the best man in your area, because you don't want to put your eyes in any sort of danger.

I went to Dr. Norgren (sp) in Ridgewood NJ, and it was an extremely easy, reassuring, and honestly decently pleasant process. Whole thing took about 15-20 minutes, and after wearing a patch the rest of the first day was good to go after that besides using drops for a while and sunglasses outside for a bit (which I do anyway)

I got it, and it was the best decision I've ever made.

I have had it done too, and will echo the comments by Ironman. I had it done about 10 years ago, cost me $1800. Best $1800 I ever spent. 2013...still no problems, or 'adjustments' needed to this day.

My wife and I did it ten years ago. Best thing ever. Probably more than paid for itself since I don't need contacts or glasses anymore.
