Hey IrishIndyFan1 thanks for putting these on for us to check out. Appreciate it.

I would have to say that I personally did not enjoy those. It was mostly negative opinion from michael and highlighting all the negative moments of the past 12 years. There were a couple positives like how ND played in the Bush Push game and that ND can play with Alabama this year. But those were too short and infrequent for me to recommend watching these.

Again I do want to say thanks for posting them IrishIndyFan1, just wasnt crazy about the PTI guys views the past 12 years.

Regardless of how bad WIllingham was, and wrecking Washington kind of validates that point, from an outsiders perspective is Ty gets 3 years and Weis gets a 10 year extension after almost beating USC. The question is there, unfortunately.

How many NFL teams were inquiring about the details of Willingham's buyout clause? The question was there, but the answer was immediate and obvious, leaving no question but that race played no part in the situation.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that was the whole point...to show how far ND has come over the last decade.

I suppose its possible I misunderstood the intent. However I still don't care to listen to the "PTI guys" rant on about ND during their struggling years. Nor do I think it is an balanced portrayal of those 12 years. They were bad years not doubt, but listening to the sensationalism of those two bozo's is not exactly getting an accurate view of all that happened the past 12 years.

And before it is said, I know I didn't have to watch them, I choose to. Just saying, could have done without watching them had I known what the content was. I guess I should have known what was coming.

I suppose I was expecting more positive elements, as those two can be part of a discussion of overcoming. Such as signing Manti Teo against the odds, beating Stanford and Oklahoma this year against expectations, returning to national prominence despite the past 15 years and three poor coaching hires along with the limited pool of athletes to sign.

So my original statement stands. From an outsiders perspective its still a touchy subject. I had no idea about the NFL stuff, I always thought it was behind the scenes. The lack of recruiting being a priority, as witnessed by the collapse of 2007.

When I first started watching the videos I was expecting a balanced look at the past 10+ years, but you can easily see their angle in the first few minutes -- they wanted to show you how far ND has come and "oh look at us, now we have to eat crow."

The racist crap pisses me off even from the beginning when Wilbon was asserting that ND wont give Ty a look bc hes black. Ty's firing was desreved. He didnt recruit, stunk it up on the field, and thought he could use his time at ND to practice for the PGA Tour.

This is on PTI right now -- the timeline. Amazing is all I can say. Wilbon says Jon Gruden and Brian Kelly to replace Weis.

Ah Wilbon throwing the race card on the table since the beginning.

With the exception of Sly Croom at MSU, and now Joker at Kentucky, which $EC program has hired a black Head Coach? Alabama has only had one black quarterback in their history and deep in the heart of Tiger country (LSU), I can tell you that the few black quarterbacks they have had are on a very very short leash. But Wilbon calls out Notre Dame.

Crazy to see how far ND has come though. I remember becoming a fan in high school during the Ty days.

I think what pundits didn't take into account was how bad the recruiting was under Ty. After a year of a top 5-10 team, the team recruiting ranking dropped to #30 on Scout and #91 on Rivals. Only 16-17 recruits. The next year was the transition to Weis and we weren't looking much better. That's why you pull the trigger so quickly.

You can't criticize the angle of this. It's pretty straight forward - they said what they said when they said it. The thing that's crazy is that Wilbon isn't even embarrassed about what a dope he was/is. That man has made a career (and an idiot of himself) by consistently being the loudest, wrongest person in the mainstream sports media. He wasn't just incredibly wrong about Willingham (both Willingham's fitness for the job and the reasons why he wasn't hired and later fired), he was also incapable of understanding how wrong he was or why because he was so blinded by his irrational anger and resentment towards ND he made up his own reality that did not appear at all connected to actual reality.

Only a truly horrible person would just make a baseless claim that ND wouldn't hire a black coach, then claim they were right when they hired a white guy (as if it had to be racism and there was no possible way he could have been more qualified); then when a black guy is hired refuse to admit he was wrong (as if there were no white guys left to hire); then when the guy gets fired for being all-around terrible at his job, claim that he was fired for being black and they never wanted him (as if it had nothing to do with his losing record and absentee recruiting). Only a willfully ignorant and truly stupid person could take those positions in sequence.

All of that being said, I enjoyed watching it, because it showed how far ND has come, but more importantly how wrong the popular opinion that ND was completely finished turned out to be.

Oh yeah I forgot they went from middling Big12 team to $EC west powerhouse in one game.

Decent, if biased look at the past 11 years. Not some of our proudest moments, but that's good. We are ND fans. We feed on this garbage. I actually rue the day when big time commentators start loving the Irish. It is not who we are.

This is where ESPN shines. They would assign a few of their talking heads to be very pro Irish, while a handful would be "ND haters." This will "stir the pot" and will create great television. I think you can look at the Lou vs Mark May sh!tshow as a good example of what ESPN would do with a successful ND program.

I continue to hate on ESPN, but I wish there was another sports network that had the access/programming The Mothership has. I know SI, CBS, Yahoo! aren't perfect, but I feel as though those companies would report on the news rather than try and make news (Bernie Fine).

No it's not. Willingham sucked. He was in a long line of coaches who sucked, and ND was looking for someone who took the job seriously and could handle coaching at ND. Ty couldn't.

It has nothing to do with color, and everything to do with ability. Ty never committed to ND the way that Holtz or Kelly have, and it was obvious to everyone in the program at the time.

Weis committed to the program, but just made too many mistakes and he had to go.

Did you actually read what I wrote? To an outsider its how it looks.
