FYI everyone. At the ND-Tenn game, they were selling the dark green jerseys that our boys were wearing at the USC game. Supposedly they sold out within 3 hours. I did not get there until Sunday morning (at the book store) and was unable to get one. They looked sweet though.

Those green jerseys were on eBay. There might still be some. He's selling them for $48.

I was always under the impression that they had the crest on the helmet for a couple of years or am I mistaken.

Thought I read somewhere that they should be back in stock around January. Maybe the best looking green jersey ever, I think.

I'm glad and surprised to see there's a club there. Gettysburg is one of my favorite places in the world.

Thanks TD, we're still relatively small at approx. 100 members but we have a good core group of people. The Navy game was really our first trip out as a club but officially it will be '06 vs. PSU.

We keep a pretty tight identity with the battle by holding field Masses out at the Corby statue...and we also participated in the Veteran's Day ceremonies at the Corby statue on campus before the Navy game. Some pics here if you're interested: You'll see our club President in his Gettysburg veteran's cap as well as giving Fr. Seetch a few gifts.

My grandfather makes the drive to Gettysburg from West Virginia once a year. I think he's been there about 30-40 times, no lie. My dad has also been there during his days in the Navy, but I have not.

Something on my list.

Gettysburg is very cool, more so in the off-season though due to the flood of tourists during late spring and summer. The fall is especially good....I ride through the battlefield alot on my way home from work (I live in the next town over) just for the peace and quiet. Thanks for the hat comment. Our president kind of borrowed the idea from another club last time he went to a game. Guy in front of him was wearing a monogram hat with "BOSTON" underneath. He thought it was a great idea so we did the same.

Had them made in navy blue (blue eyelets) and gold monogram of course as well as the forest green (my idea and preference) with the gold monogram and eyelets. Maybe I had a premonition CW would have dark green and gold jerseys made up for USC? :D

Quick question, do you guys think ND will ever wear the gold jerseys during a game? I think that would be sweet to see how bout you?

Probably/hopefully not. Who knows. Heard a rumor that "special" jerseys were ordered for this year's bowl game. I'll believe it when I see it though.

Ooh, I hope not....I wasn't a big fan of the Vegas Gold jerseys and really don't want to see a 4th jersey used in a bowl game....maybe CW is resurrecting Faust's baby blues? ;)

while this is the topic of jerseys. How would you feel IF the irish wore a jersey setup similiar to the ones the basketball team wore agaisnt seaton hall???? (black,green,gold,white?) I think it could be really sharp if designed correctly.....

sometimes it's nice to see a change.... a lot of teams have black jerseys that don't have black in school colors..........If it's done right i wouldn't mind seeing black jerseys........

Same ones they wore tonight vs Conn?

No thanks....don't want ND to jump on the black jersey bandwagon. Keep the existing identity.

The school colors are Blue and Gold...not Black. The green to me is even a stretch but since we are the Irish it is acceptable. If we start wearing black what does that make us...Purdue like, and we def. don't want to be like that.

Amen!

The trend in both college and the pros to come up with an alternate jersey (or even do away permanently with an original jersey for one) in black needs to stop...it's ridiculous.

So if green is a stretch, what color should shamrocks be? They are naturally green and Irish related. If green is a stretch what color should the shamrocks have been on the 2004 jersey where it was on the collar? If green is a stretch quit living by the record of what nd is in the jersey. Color of the jersey won't matter, they'll always be ND in blue, white or green. They will still perform the same.
....Blue, Gold Green....I admit black was nice to see on the bball court it was done well, it was a nice brief change in the fact that this season hasn't been great.

Green is a stretch only because it isn't one of the school's official colors. The official colors are Blue and Gold.

The bigger question (and worry) to me is that we all saw those black football jerseys made by Adidas on ebay...at the time I didn't know the b-ball team had a black jersey this season. Now it makes me wonder.

never put it that way. but the ONLY place i've seen them is on Ebay, which leads me to believe those are indeed fake. it's easy to get a blank jersey and screen print everything else on there and say it's legit......

IF they do wear these black jerseys, they better not be wearing gold pants.....

A lot of schools sell replicas of jerseys they never wear. The black ones might be real. The bookstore used to sell gold jerseys and I've seen UM fans with yellow jerseys.

But those were sold in stores...USC had their "gold" alternate jerseys but all of these were sold in stores. When the black football jerseys are sold in stores and not ebay then that will settle the discussion whether they are actually made by adidas or not.

Would it be completely nuts to wonder if these black replicas are any sort of tip-off of what might be worn vs Army (some sort of tribute maybe?)

ND isn't really known for printing up alternate jerseys and these seem to be authentic adidas. Though I guess anyone could buy a black addidas jersey and slap any kind of markings on it. Though, knowing how protective ND is of their trademarks, I would have thought they'd have squashed this by now.
