That was an amazing story. I am a huge ND fan despite the fact that I went to Purdue (20 years of loving my hometown team vs. 4 at Purdue-need I say more?) Brees and Orton were sweet but nothing compares to the Irish on gameday. I can't wait until I graduate dental school and have the money/time to go to ND football games every week, if possible (being that tickets may be hard to come by as long as Cdub is around).

Marshall Anthony

"First thing, I'm African-American," he says. "I didn't go to Notre Dame. I'm not Catholic."

"... when they lose. I take it kind of bad, I really do."

So, like a lot of Irish fans, he suffered through the last decade.

On a gloomy night last year at the Los Angeles Coliseum, after Notre Dame's third straight 31-point loss to USC, he sensed the end for Tyrone Willingham.

"In the rain, at the SC game here in Los Angeles last year, I said, 'He's gone.' Nobody believed me. But he had to go," Anthony says. "The guy is a great guy from Sunday to Friday, but when you go out on that field, he wasn't getting it done."

A coaching connoisseur, he has savored the transformation Charlie Weis brought to the program.

"The guy is flat-out brilliant, that's all there is to it," Anthony says. "He's Notre Dame, that's the main thing."

"I do not leave, win, lose or draw," Anthony says, "until the band leaves."

After the last notes of the alma mater that means as much to him as anyone with a Notre Dame degree.

He's right about staying until the band is done. I wanted to leave after the SC game, but my dad made sure we both stayed.

Rather than waste my time criticizing them I just turn them off. They know there are a lot of ND fans listening so they say stupid things to get a rise. Move on!

Can't turn off Mark May unless you want to turn off Lou Holtz. The other guys I haven't watched all season. Best way to respond to them is through lower ratings.
