I believe he grasped the top front lip of the helmet. I thought perhaps his mask didn't extend to the top of his helmet but it does.

I am a football offical and they changed the facemasking rule for just that purpose. If you use the helmet for any reason to make a tackle, it is a penalty.

Kudos To the Syracuse defense in the first quarter.

They ran a lot of stunts and loops, not stupid enough to go head to head with the ND offense. The gimmick worked....for 15 minutes.

Weis' ability to adjust on the fly is what will make this program so successful. Think about it, fellas....they had an ugly, off game and still scored 34 as a team. Not bad.

The front four doesn't get enough of a push to the quarterback. This is going to be a problem as long as this personnel is in place.

ACCIrish and I were at the game again this weekend and while most of it was sloppy play and sometimes downright hard to watch against a bad 'Cuse team. The effort and the heart that the players showed was something that has been lacking at ND for maybe a decade. The way the Seniors left the field and the effort that guys like Hoyte gave during that game was unbelievable. Hats off to this years class that stuck it out through all the hard times and are finally getting their just rewards. In retrospect the change in attitude of everyone is apparent now and a 9-2 season is not good or even great but better things are once again expected out of the Irish..a welcome sign for this ND fan. Go Irish Beat Cardinal!

The improvement of the highly talented big stat guys like Quinn and Stovall are readily apparent. I was more impressed with the guys like Richardson, Wooden, and Anastascio who took a lot of heat last year but did Play Like Champions this year.

There's a game to go but kudos to those who survived the past administration, the parade of coaches, and we impatient fans to excell.

I miss Kmac's optimism.

I missed Kmac last week. Guess he's at the game again this week.

It's not a Game Day Thread with out Kmac's depression.

HAHA yeah I was up there the past couple of weeks. Couple that with being home on thanksgiving break and I havent been able to visit in a week. If you think I am bad you should have watched the game with my Dad last night. I keep a positive attitude during all the games its just that I am very critical of everything. Growing up watching the FSU-ND 1993 game hundreds of times makes you critical of everything and expect perfection.
