The one and only time I will root for Michigan. Urban is a douche. Lying to recruits is another one I remember. Just don't like the guy. He's another Saban. We're better off with a coach that actually has some integrity.

I hate Michigan, but I hate Urban more. I think of him as a traitor.
Shoelaces had become part of college football's landscape for me too. He was so formidible in such a unique way. I thought he made it fun to watch us play Michigan, and I never really hated him the way I hate Tom Brady or Marc Sanchez. I'll miss getting psyched up to play him.

Aside from leaving Florida for "medical" reasons, he's done what a head coach is supposed to do. Guy won national championships and lands elite recruits. I don't really understand the hatred. If he takes some of our recruits then that just means he out-recruited us. It happens. Move on. Looking back a few years, I doubt many can honestly say they wouldn't have taken Urban over Kelly.

I really don't care for Meyer but at this point it doesn't matter anymore. We got the guy we were supposed to and he gets it! Kelly did this the right way and I couldn't be more proud to be Irish! We are in the process of watching something great be built and we don't have to sell our souls to get recruits or have our coach tell stories about dreams they had.

This! He's an Ohio guy that grew up with this rivalry. I love seeing coaches getting emotional and knowing where that emotion comes from. He's done some dirty ish, but commenting on the video alone. I loved it. That said I hope Michigan smashes the Buckeye's. I've already started hearing the bs about them being the best team in the nation and the only other undefeated school!

Can't really blame Urban for not taking the head coaching position. Irish were in a pretty bad place at that time, and he asks Bob Davie (Probably the wrong person to ask at the time) if you can win at Notre Dame still, and he said no.
As far as the coaches...we haven't really been hurting without them, have we?
grin: To be fair, Ohio State has looked better this year, but I like our current coaching staff.Leaving Florida high and dry, you can definitely make an argument...but it's Florida, so I don't care much. On the other hand, he brought them 2 championships though, so they should be grateful really. I'd love to be sitting on 2 national championships in the last 6 years and then left high and dry.
That said, I've been raised and live in Ohio, so OSU is kind of a #2 team for me...but they'll always be #2 behind the Irish.
