According to Rivals, Carufel was at the Tenn game on his own dollar and was seen wearing an ND hat. Also a creditable poster on the message board said he was on the same flight back to Minnesota with him and asked Carufel if he would be at ND next year and Carufel responded with a "yes"

You know, I thought I saw him walking around. I told my buddy that I thought it was him. I didn't want to look like an ass and say something,but I could have sworn that it was him. I didn't see him with the ND hat on, but I'm not saying that he did not have one on the entire day. That is great news.

They also mentioned Purdue fans were taking pictures of Dan Wenger in a Purdue cap when he visited there.

I'm dreaming of a Webb, Olsen, Carufel, Stewart and Young front five for Mr. Aldridge and Double D Jones. Wow.

I haven't been this excited about recruiting in years.

Wow, would be surprised with Purdue landing any recruits right now. That program is in total disarray with students and fans calling for Tiller's head.

Although I think it's premature, it can hurt recruiting.

If anyone here receives Blue Gold Illustrated through the mail, and has already gotten the Navy issue, turn to page 10, with the pic of Stovall's 35 yard TD catch. Behind him in the crowd 2 rows behind the leprachaun, is Matt Carufel, with the purple Cretin Durham jacket. Looks like an ND hat on. Just thought it was kinda interesting.

The word is Wenger will remain in Fla but he has not come to ND yet. I believe we have a better chance for Young. Both of these guys are to attend the Navy game so let's hope something good happens then

With all the talk about these recruits, I think Duncan sees the field first. Young and Carufel will need some quality time with Coach Mendoza. And the finished product after that quality time scares me.

Duncan could turn out to be one of the key signings during the coaching transition class of 2004.

Jiggs, I think Duncan came in with the 2005 class with Turkovich.
We don't hear much about him but I agree he could be a "sleeper" in that class.

You are correct. That was an error.

Duncan was highly sought after. I think he will contribute next year as a starter, as he currently backs up LeVoir on the two-deep.

Right now, the best recruiters appear to be Bartley Webb, James Aldridge and Darrin Walls.

Webb talks to everyone of the o-line guys it seems. Aldridge talks to most verbals and current uncommited guys.

Walls keeps the group e mail list going and has everyone posted as to what's going on.

Bartley Webb can't wait to get to ND. I see him being a future leader and possible team captain. Just from the way he talks, I think he understands what it means to be Notre Dame already.

I know a lot of Kudos and Congrats have been heaped on CDub, Vaas, Miller, Latina, etc. (AND RIGHTFULLY SO!!!!!!!!!) but let's not forger Mr. Mendoza. Our guys NEVER look gassed, most are looking much bigger/cut than last year and that has lead to FEWER INJURIES as well.

So PROPS to Reuben!!!! (I take it he's the 'bouncer' that you always see behind and to the left of CDub on some camera angles....talk about having someone's back...)

With the two interceptions against Tennessee, the 2005 ND Defense passed the total number of interceptions recorded by the 2004 Defense. Interestingly, all 11 interceptions this year have been by members of the ND secondary, while only 5 of the 9 last year were.
