Sunday after mass, I was looking through our parish bulletin. It advertised a contest to come up with a tag line for the school. (grades K-8) I read the contest details out loud to my wife. Without missing a beat, she blurted out, "God, Country, Sacred Heart."

She's a keeper.

Hold on to her and never let her go. It's like my ol lady. We just got this dog and she, my son and I were trying to think of a name for it. She blurts out the name "Charlie" She's a good girl.

My better half just reordered checks today. I asked her what kind she got.

"Well, rather than the standard I ordered checks with Tim Brown catching a touchdown pass over a Michigan State player and the Golden Dome in the background."

At least I can smile now when I pay bills.

I am with Chase, which was Bank One all those years ago and First Chicago when I originally opened an account in high school.

She asked about sports teams. The CSR on the phone said they didn't have pro but had college.

"Which colleges do you have?"

"Well, we have Notre Dame..."

(Cutting him off) "Okay, that'll do."

"We usually say Notre Dame first and most times don't need to go further."
