So many, so quick to meltdown.. SMDH It's a two possesion game with a whole quarter left.. How many close games have we been in this year??

Some of you know who you are and some might have been out of character but if you don't know this team by now... well, you know the rest.

If you can't handle a close game, or your alcohol, like a man... step away from the computer and keep your tantrums to yourself.

This team wins. They did everything they could to give this game away and they couldn't. You bash Kelly for putting Rees in.. Kelly sticks to his guns, it worked before in similar situations. This time it didn't work, now he's a jacka$$??

Maybe some of you should question within as to why you lose faith so quickly after this team has proved their resilience time and time again.

Have you not been watching our PROTECT THIS HOUSE FRIDAY videos???? The proof is right there!

If you'd like to step into this thread and eat crow (those of you who know who they are) you'll be respected for it in the future.. I personally know, I had some over-reactions myself last year and owned up to my childish behavior.

Maybe after this win you'll find it easier to keep the faith for all four quarters.. Because, if you don't know this team by now... you'll never, never, never know this team.

you just have to know im a pessimist, do i like that about myself, no but its just part of my nature. I dont mean to bother anyone with it but maybe its because in my lifetime Ive never seen the irish go all the way or win a big bowl game. There's nothing wrong with being a pessimist...it's a personality type and probably should be added as the 5th dimension on the Myers-Briggs personality test.

Some of us are superstitious, some of us are pessimistic. We're not bad people, we have every right to post, and it doesn't take away from the fact that we are huge ND fans.

Yeah. I just stared at my wife for a solid 15 seconds. Wasn't her fault but I didn't know what else to do. So many emotions at once. It was a scary place for me to be in.

Yesterday when I found out I was forced to work OT today I set it to record and it asked me how many minutes over the scheduled slot did I want so I selected 30. Did not think 3OT was in the playbook. Next time, I'm selecting 5 hours AFTER the end of the scheduled time!

Shame on me.

Sloppy game. Lucky to win. 9-0 nevertheless, but style points are beginning to be important and we failed the test today..

Some observations from the 50 yard line:

1. When Graham broke free in the 1st drive, Russell showed incredible speed running him down. Russell is incredibly fast. Something we have not seen in a cornerback in a long time. He's going to have a great career.

2. Poor play calling with 1st and goal from the 1 in the 1st half. Big momentum change when they stopped us. Thankfully, when it counted in overtime Kelly used the common sense sneak.

3. Golson needs to be allowed to stretch the ball more early in the game. The only time he did in the first half was predictably the throw to Brown in the 1st half. Golson has a very strong arm. Throw some long passes to stretch the field in the 1st half. That will loosen things up. Our offense is potentially more dynamic, but only if Golson is allowed to do more. Rees should never see the field again unless Golson is hurt. Golson should have more designed runs and should be opened up in downfield passses earlier. Style points matter now. Let the kid show his stuff.

4. I'm glad we squeaked by, but let's not kid ourselves. Pitt isn't LSU or USC whom Alabama and Oregon beat. We need to win big against BC and Wake and beat USC by at least 10. If we don't and AL, Oregan and K-State take care of business, we're going to be left out of the big dance.

I can't handle many more games like this. I was emotionally spent at the end of the game. I had a headache...initially it felt like a loss (two losses actually)

But it was a win. I am starting to look at that missed fg in ot as a fine that Pitt. had to pay for flagrantly defying the law of averages by having every break go their way the whole game.

I am positive that this is as bad as Notre Dame can play and we still won. As far as the NC game, que sera sera. If we run the table and don't get in...whoever wins will have an asterisk beside their name in my record book (added in pen)
