McShay has him #2 on his big board right now. Everything I have been hearing projects Manti as a top ten pick.

I appreciate you bringing this to my attention. I've been slacking and haven't looked at a mock in two weeks. Indeed you guys are correct. Crazy how things have changed though saw many mocks having him going to the bears just two weeks ago. Once again I apologize I ever doubted Manti, still don't see him going number 1 though.

Although, I still don't agree with you that Geno will drop into the second. With the new rookie salary cap teams love to get new Qb's.

I kind of hope he slips a bit so the Vikings can be there to snatch him up. Then again with the Vikings we could just crap the bed the rest of the year and get a top 10 pick anyway.

History says Manti will be Top 10 but not Top 5. With more teams in the 3-4, OLB's and DE's are just so much more valuable (not to mention the skill positions).

For example, in the modern 3-4 era I can't think of an ILB going higher than Rolando McClain at 8th. I think Kuchley was mid-round, but Manti's a lot better than him though.

A.J. Hawk went number 5, Mayo went 10, Willis went 11. I see where your coming from and I think he will be between 4-8 type pick. Not a lock for top five for sure but could definitley slip in there because their are no high end QBs or OT like in many of the drafts recently. I could definitely see a team fall in love with him and take him by 5 and I don't think anyone could say anything bad about that pick. I tend to agree with you about being top ten but I think the extra fanfare and season he and ND are having may make him a more stylish pick than other ILBs have been and so make teams more willing to take him. I think if you were to redo many of the drafts where inside linebackers like Willis and Mayo were taken they would probably be picked around 5.

That's a good point about Hawk, although I think he was probably taken a bit high, and the Packers were a 4-3 team then.

In a 4-3 Manti's perfect. There are just less and less of those these days.

IMHO, Landry Jones has the most upside out of all QBs in the NCAA.

Stoops is no idiot.

He has an awesome arm.

His o-line is decimated.

He's a money pick-up...

I am a 49ers fan, so my guys won't have it (and that's quite alright because we're gunning for the Superbowl). However, not only do I live in Kansas City, my brother is a big Chiefs fan (and it appears highly likely they'll have the first pick). So, I was just wondering whom you all thought they should take. Keep in mind, this is the same team that hasn't drafted a QB since 1983 (Todd Blackledge) and hasn't won a game with a starting QB THEY drafted since 1987. So yeah, they're highly overdue on actually being real men and drafting a QB in round one if it's called for. The problem is, there is no Andrew Luck or RGIII at the end of the rainbow this year.

I have been thinking about it and personally I wouldn't take either Matt Barkley OR Geno Smith as neither have truly impressed me. Barkley not at all, Smith throws up gaudy stats against subpar defenses. In truth, and partly because I am Notre Dame faithful, I'd take Te'o just because he really seems like the next Junior Seau only with better coverage ability. But, #1 overall seems even too high for him. You could make the case they could trade down and still take Te'o (which they would replace Justin Houston with), but who would trade up with them with no solid "he's absolutely #1" guy on the board. Thoughts?

I wish the Chiefs would go ahead and let Brady Quinn start for the rest of the season. He's never really gotten an NFL chance thus far. Worst case I think he shows enough to be a top level #2 QB in the NFL going forward.
