Why can't we just recruit natural corners? Haven't signed a four star corner since Robert Blanton. So sad. Lets recruit actual DB's who are ready to go instead of teaching an 18 year old kid something brand new

But what kind of offensive player did we loose to him playing D?

Hard to say. But did the coaching staff even intend for him to play offense? What kind of running back are we losing with Jaylon? Most of these kids play both ways in high school so I suppose you could question that with a lot of them.

Actual 4* corners like Darrin Walls and Gary Gray? how did that work out?

I am a firm believer that the best corners are athletes in high school that play offensive positions. In high school you want your best players on the offensive side of the ball and sprinkle in a little defense for them. You don't want your best athletes to play just corner.

Examples of the top of my head: Shumate mostly played RB, Joe Haden QB, Prince RB.

That's just my opinion though.

Go look at the 4* corners from rivals in 2009. how many worked out 5 or so.

Sherm,

You make good points but the best athletes in high school typically play multiple positions such as corner plus receiver with an example being D. Neal. I believe that most of us are referring to wanting players that have corner experience and love playing corner while also projecting to be a corner in the college game.

I understand what you are saying. I'm just saying Clement is a talent at RB and I think he could play corner. I'm saying you take a kid with his talent, let the pieces fall and put him in the best position to succeed.

No doubt the kid has talent and I would love for him to be on the team for sure, but in my opinion I would rather have James/Folston combination with 2-3 top safety or corner prospects at the end of this recruiting season but I do agree that this kid is a phenominal talent and I will have no gripes if he joins the mob.

Or maybe they are looking at him at a different position.

Oh this is great...ND might pass up on a talent that Alabama wants.

Can't see Alabama taking his commitment. They want Alvin Kamara because they might lose tennpenny. If they miss out on month they could go after clement

Also, for you guys who say he only plays RB...look at his tape on the first page and tell me what positions it states he plays.

He did have 72 tackles and 6 sacks last year...just saying.

Looking at his tape he would be a really good safety.

I would take him over James.

Choosing pathetic Pitt caused him to lose his spot though.
