Anyone have the inside scoop on what is going on with him??

Thanks,

Batch

He was suspended for the USC game for violating team rules -- i was at the game and so i don't know if this is the "DUH" comment of the week or if it wasn't mentioned on the TV broadcast.

Nope... on the telecast all they said is RPN would not be playing for violating team rules.

It's a shame. A senior, could be part of the foundation for a steller decade.

Team rules leads me to believe it was something other than grades. We will never know for sure. Don't hold your breath waiting for Weis to give the specific reason.

I think Powers Neal is renting a place in Weis' doghouse.

I hope this kid isn't blowing his shot at something special. RPN has the potential to be the first fullback picked in the NFL Draft if he really focuses and puts effort into being a football player.

It would be a shame if he's not a part of the rest of the season.

From his press conference today...

Q. Do you know what Rashon Powers-Neal's status is?

COACH WEIS: He has a matter that he has to clear up. If and when he clears that up, he'll be playing. He perfectly understands that, the family understands it. I don't do anything without having everyone on board, but he understands that so when he gets it cleared up, he'll be back. But until that point takes place, he won't be back.

whatever it is that he's screwing up on, it's going to cost him dearly. let schwapp play the next game or two as the starter and then you've got the dilemma of benching a future leader in favor of a short timer who's obviously had some problems this year. weis has already burned schwapp's freshman year of eligibility - all things being equal, why not keep a kid in the game who's kept his nose clean and will contribute for three more years?

Here's an idea:

Walker and Thomas as a tandem on certain plays out of certain formations.

I said after the Purdue game TT should get more reps with the first team. Weis utilized him a great deal against SC. Walker seemed fresh at the end.

Schwapp will pay off for us in the long run tremendously. He is strong as an ox and this year of experience will just make him that much better. He has made mistakes granted, but every frosh does. He will learn and wait until he is clearing holes for aldridge and walker in the future.

Discipline!

You send the message that those that don't take care of business pay the price. And then you send the message that those that learn and rectify the situation regain their privileges. They still have to earn their PT.

I've been impressed with Scwhapp but he's still a freshman. He's played well for a freshman. RPN has played well for a senior - when he's played. He's the better FB at this time. RPN playing well helps the team short term and long term. Prospects follow the NFL Draft.

Schwapp will still get snaps regardless of who the starter is. And as long as he's Avis to RPN's Hertz, he'll have to keep working harder to get to #1.

I think with Schwapp here and Schmidt coming in next fall, Fullback will be deep for the next three years.

I'm very disappointed with this RPN situation. I had very high hopes for him this year with this staff. Guess it isn't working out.
